I would also want to watch this classic for the 1st time through the eyes of an adult or, even better, in 1973 at a packed theater on a big wide screen.

Shining and THe Birds on such a list?? no way, Cannibal Holocaust should be there though, because slaying a giant turtle for the sake of a movie goes too far.
The first time I saw it, a couple of years ago and after having seen a lot of stuff, I wasn’t really scared to be honest, it disturbed and shocked me though like only a handful of movies have ever done. I didn't expect it to be so good; it lives up to its hype so many years after its release and may have been equaled but never bested IMO.
Another sensational classic from the same period is of course Jaws: 10/10.

Shawshank Redemption, however, I saw this one more than 15 years ago. In any case, I was impressed by this movie and astounded by the fact that it bears very tiny similarity to S. King's story of the same name.
