"Favorite is The Changeling -1980"
Very decent choice there.

3 of my favorite horror movies are The Resurrected(1991), Candyman (1992) and Texas Chain saw Massacre (1974)

The Texas Chain saw Massacre scared me when I first saw it at age 15.
I watched it then I had to walk through a field by some train tracks to meet my friend and I was like "omg I could die out here"..it never crossed my mind before that apparently.

That movie made me lose my innocence a little.

I had to go.
It was around Halloween, so my friend was begging me to go costume shopping with her and I was like "fine"..then I ended up in a field next to the mall, keeping an eye out for cannibals. haha

Yeah, she was my best friend, so I felt compelled to fight off mall cannibals to meet up with her.

The first time I saw it, a couple of years ago and after having seen a lot of stuff, I wasn’t really scared to be honest, it disturbed and shocked me though like only a handful of movies have ever done. I didn't expect it to be so good; it lives up to its hype so many years after its release and may have been equaled but never bested IMO.

Another sensational classic from the same period is of course Jaws: 10/10.

Like Lennonforever, I have loved horror since I was a kid. I grew up in the 40's and 50's, so I've seen a lot of horror in my life!! I rank Alien, as the most atmospheric horror. The Thing was excellent too - Not the original with James Arness, but the remake...Excellent! I too prefer the originals of Halloween etc .
