shareYeah, I agree. People hate it because of its politics (migrants, lesbians, whatever) and native English speakers hate it even more because they have to read subtitles while characters are talking over each other in different languages. Reading comic books can't prepare you for that because the images there are static and silent.
That aside, I think that it is pretty creative and fun. It is rare these days just to let it loose. What I didn't like is that the rhythm in the second part slows down to allow for more emotional content, but it failed to make me care much. Still I think it is a plus that they mixed family drama with crazy fantasy action without failing miserably.
I'm not sure that I will remember it for anything else but for being wild and fun. Kinda like "Scott Pilgrim vs the World".
