That's why they had to make him stutter because he didn't have the acting chops to illicit sympathy on his acting skills alone.
I don't see anything woke about it either. It's pretty much a 1:1 of the Broadway version. There have been several black Elphaba's for the tour, so that doesn't mean anything.
You need to finish Strange Darling. It’s probably not what you think it is at first.
Melancholia - one of my top 5 of all time. Just everything about it is a masterpiece. It is the ultimate existential dread experience.
Mother very good too. I need to watch that again. It’s been a while.
I thought Naomi was really good. She has some acting chops and convincingly sold what could’ve been a largely forgettable movie. She plays the “girl losing her mind” bit really well.
Off the subject, Willa Fitzgerald in Strange Darling was amazing in a similar downward-spiral sense.
She needed a reason to leave without raising suspicion. Trump just gave her an easy out.
The songs are what made it popular. I’ve seen it on and off Broadway and it’s a largely forgettable story. But there are some bangers musically.
Hopefully they don’t get all soulful and note-y with them in the film.
“Don’t forget about me!” - Cats
“hey! I bombed too!” - Westside Story

The thing I remember most is he appeared inside of a diamond made of lasers. In the Star Wars era that was mind blowing. Then he started blasting lasers all over the arena. I believe it was at the Checkerdome (now known as St Louis Arena) in St. Louis, MO.
I never was a huge fan of the song heartlight. It was OK. My favorite Neil Diamond song has always been Love on the Rocks.
