Why Do nerds think this is the best show ever

If someone has to explain this to you. Than your a moron.

NOT A STAR TREK SUPER FAN OR SCI FI IN GENERAL..JUST A FAN OF TV AND MOVIES...THE ORVILLE IS A GOOD SHOW,NOT MY FAVORITE OR ON ANY TOP LISTS FOR ME...BUT ITS A GOOD SHOW.

Well I like it cuz it’s real neato to have on in the background while you’re pinning bugs to cards to add to your collection. It’s a show you don’t gots to pay too close of attention to and still be able to follow the story. Cuz you certainly don’t wanna stick a pin in a rhinoceros beetle’s thorax. No sir! That’s carcaridon ryenosserax to my fellow buggites out there.

It's kind of like what it was like watching TV in the 70's. We had 5 channels(depending on the weather) and a lot of times you're forced to watch something bland and boring but it was better than turning the TV off.
That being said I don't think anyone in 1977 ever thought Man from Atlantis was the best show ever.

I used to like this show, then I lost interest when it became the "Seth MacFarlane Therapy Hour." Oh, that and the fact that it veered away from McFarlane's original intent to make it more lighthearted. It became so dark in the second season that I stopped caring about it.

There you go; that's escapism for ya'. It's like a pure adventure show plucked right out of 1990s Americana before unadulterated, edgy grittiness.

I don't get the youtubers who crap all over Nu Doctor Who and Star Trek Discovery and Picard for its agenda writing, when Orville is packed just as hard to the gills with the same content. It just uses a gentler touch is all.
