Have any of you actually read the book?

It seems like most of you guys are concerned with this being a remake of the room with other actors and that's not really it.

You guys are saying things like "Josh is playing Denny and Zac is playing Chris R."

The movie is not just a remake, nor is it even a behind the scenes of the room. It's about Greg and Tommy's friendship.

The fact that someone has been cast as Iris Burton proves that the film will follow the book's structure of switching timeframes between 1999 and 2003.

I just think a lot of people are really wrong about what this movie is.

I haven't gotten around to reading it, but I'm definitely interested to see these relationships brought to the big screen. I don't want a remake of The Room, which is good, as this isn't that at all.

Read the book, listened to the audio book and watched about every interview with Greg and Tommy I can find. I can't wait for this film, it's my most anticipated of 2016.

I read it five times myself (see my other post) and knew already it's a behind-the-scenes take on the cult classic. I'm all for it. I wasn't expecting the Francos but they could pull this off.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

I've actually read the book, and was laughing my ass off for a good chunk of it.

Also, let me be one to say it's just as much a behind the scenes of The Room as it is about Greg and Tommy. 50/50

Absolutely. I like hearing that Sharon Stone is in the cast as 'an agent' because that means all of that interesting back story and history is likely to be included. I hope that the timeline jumps back and forth as it did in the book too. That was a clever story telling device that I think could really work in the movie.

I love the book, and I am beyond stoked for this movie. It's as much a hilarious insight into the most wonderfully bizarre film ever made as well as a rather poignant look into the complexities of a weird friendship between Greg and Tommy. I'm hoping the movie will be a barrel of laughs but also a little bit touching and cerebral. I also think the casting is awesome, so fingers crossed!

I'm almost done reading it and I could not be more excited about the movie. Oddly enough, I actually had a dream where I ran into Dave Franco and told him how excited I was. Lol
