Was okay. but couldn't get past differences in physical attractiveness

A poor Jon Favreau is not going to receive affection from a wealthy Sophia Vergara. Also, is not going to bed a Scarlett Johansson.

You'll understand when you become an adult.

Totally disagree. 1) Favreau and Vergara's characters knew each other for at least the previous decade. Whatever money played into her attraction to him, the attraction had already been established in the past when he was an up and coming hot chef. 2) The grandfather and the critic both brought up Casper's weight gain, suggesting that Favreau's character had been slimmer in the past. And very likely had more hair for what that's worth.

In real life look at the overused but true examples of Paulina Porizkova and Ric Ocasek and Billy Joel and Christy Brinkley. One thing about a lot of "hot women": Many of them know what they really look like w/o the hair treatment, makeup and body enhancing clothing. So they tend not to judge looks so much.

As far as not going to bed with Scarlett Johansson/Molly? It takes two to tango. In the scene where Casper confesses his situation, it's Molly who says no to his advance.

You, Sir, are a twat. A shallow, moronic twat. For centuries Men whom aren't quite up to the attractive standards of society have gotten females which are considered to be more attractive than the average females. People only base relationships off looks when they are shallow twits like yourself. The rest of society are attracted to people of charisma, intelligence, and humour. So please, do yourself a favour and get this stupid 'Hot girls only go for hot guys' idea out of your head.

Thank you.

1. There are plenty of people (myself included) who find Jon Favreau to be hot as hell. He's big, beefy and masculine (and a few years back was in awesome shape, which the film alludes to.)

2. He's not just some poor schlub. He was sort of a hotshot chef at top restaurants in Miami and Los Angeles. He may not have been rolling in dough, but his position is certainly one that many women would find alluring, and would also have afforded him plenty of opportunity to mingle with wealthy socialites. It's just really not much of a stretch.

While I liked the film, I have to be honest I didn't think much about it until I saw your post. Yes, now that you say it, I think you're right. Sofia V probably likes him because he is her baby's father more than anything. I wish Dustin Hoffman's character had a more elaborate role, he was funny.

The first thing I said about the movie was that I couldn't stand the main character because all he did was whine, he was constantly being consoled by beautiful women way out of his league, and he was not attentive to his son most of the time because he was too busy whining about his food.

I saw that. it's like the other guys with will ferrell getting all those ladies and marky mark, going come on.
