I used to LIVE at the arcade! I played most of the games in this show... Though I am a little younger. The games I enjoyed were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter... Around that era.
What was your favorite video game as a kid?
Oh god I miss them SO MUCH!!!!! I'm a pinball chick, so I will never again be sated. The only local places that had them no longer do. One of the restaurants that had one returned The Simpsons one because all it needed was cleaning. The game surface was so dirty it was black. They charged a lot just to open and use a gentle cleanser. They priced themselves out of business. One of my faves was Adams Family @ the laundromat and that's long gone. The pizza joint had 2 and the local bar as well. 6 tables gone. The most selfish thing I would do if I became rich is make a huge basement arcade. Oh and I'm sickened to see Bride of Pinbot's precious parts all over auction sites. Okay. I could continue, but my point is made. Thanks for reading to the end.

shareMiss them so much. We have Dave n Busters type joints now but its not quite the same. Theres a throwback style place near where i live where you pay upfront and play all the games you want and its pretty cool. Its all arcade machines and they have some real good ones like Defender, original PacMan, Galaga, Asteroid, Donkey Kong etc. Its a pretty cool place and probably the closest thing you can get to a classic arcade now.

I spent much of my time and money in the Eighties playing arcade games. My favorites tended to be the games where I would fly around in my spaceship shooting aliens. I hated Pac Man, because you could not shoot anything. It's no fun if you can not shoot something.
My favorites included Space Invaders, Galaga, Galaxians, Gorf, Asteroids, Spiders, and especially Xevious. I was the Xevious master. I once scored over 980,000 on the game. That meant going well over half an hour on one quarter. I flipped the game, which I previously thought was impossible. I have always regretted not breaking 1 million.
I was also really good at Tapper. I played many of the sports games too.
I hardly play any games now.

ohyeah man...the simple classic games like this were so much better.

which non arcade video games are?
Remember them? I practically used to live in them when I was younger. I remember days on summer break we'd head on down to the local arcade and literally spend hours pumping quarters into the machines. Good times.
I do have a bit of a game room in my man cave of a basement. Managed to get an old Pac Man machine and had it refurbished. Also got a custom built job for my MAME emulator. 1000+ games on one rather impressive looking machine.
Just want to add my imput, I' m 55 years old and yes...I miss arcades wholeheartedly!!!
