If I had to place a bet I would bet on 'no'.

It's about to enter it's 4th weekend, bombed in China and is getting released on HBO Max by mid April.

Also I think it enjoyed a strong hold this past weekend because of Spring Break, I think it will drop significantly this upcoming weekend (in the US).

So Bats depends mostly of the international market at this point.

I agree - at this point whoever is going to see it did it already and the rest will wait a few weeks for HBO.

I was surprised at your China comment since I recall super hero movies do well there. I dug around... "(because of a Covid spike) approximately 43% of cinemas are now temporarily closed, including in Shanghai and Shenzhen, among the top areas for imported films."

Ouch, bad timing.

Maybe the Chinese just don't want to see a movie about bats since they supposedly caused Covid.

Probably not. It's only been out for 3 weeks so maybe $750M or near $800M when it's done.

Batman has had constant sequels and reboots since the 80s. I can't imagine they will stop now.

It's already made a solid profit, and is a hit with critics and audiences. I'm certain there will be a sequel. Considering the kind of film it is, and the state of the world upon its release, a global box office of $736 million and counting is success beyond reasonable expectations.
