2 Hours 43 Minutes?

I was going to go see it at the theater but I cannot sit and watch a 3 hour movie with all those cell phones going off!

Yeah, it sorta is. But I view this as a positive thing as long as the film FEELS like it should be that long. Its running time might affect how well it does with the general audience, but if this turns out to be an immersive and outstanding film, then that is what's important for me. The thought of getting to explore world of Blade Runner for this long does excite me.

On a side note, I've been going to the movies all year long and luckily I haven't had to deal with ringing cell phones or anything. I usually go to morning shows, but even showings later in the day have been pleasant so far. I saw the original Blade Runner on IMAX last week (theater was packed), and apart from a couple dropping their bucket of popcorn, it was a marvelous experience. :)

I read that it doesn't feel long but it feels "elongated", but because there is an embargo on the film until next week, they couldn't specify what they meant by that. Anyway, I have heard the word "masterpiece" being thrown in.

Fast forward 2+weeks later.

So by the end of it I was surprised that it felt... not so long. I guess I ended up really investing myself in it. I mean just the look of the film alone grabbed my complete attention: it is strikingly beautiful and engrossing. Not to mention the huge screen and sound I experienced it in (my favorite IMAX), which thinking about it makes me want to see the film on the big screen a few more times (you heard that right) before it drops on blu-ray/4K because you can’t replicate something like that at home.

Didn't seem like it when I saw it. Went by pretty fast. I do think they could have tightened it up some. Not as far as cutting whole scenes, but just increasing the pace a tad. Much like Blade Runner, 2049 does sometimes take a long time to say very little. But the visual spectacle is more than enough to keep you interested. Every frame a work of art. One of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. The advice I've been giving is to find the biggest screen and best speakers you can. I saw it in 2D, so I can't speak to how the 3D helped or hurt the film.

worth every second. it could have been 100hours i would been in heaven.
