To me, Spielberg's final great film was "Raiders of the Lost Ark." I think that his becoming a producer then influenced his work as a director, where he was more making films instead of creating them. There are lots of directors whose best work is early in their careers, just like there are lots of bands whose best work is early in their careers.
I think that most women want to get with a dirtbag at least once in their lives. Davidson officially serves that purpose.
Just in case it offers anything extra, here is Variety's article:

A truly great and unique artist. And, I still think his "Dune" was the best "Dune" adaptation.
This is pretty much the only accomplishment too many women can attest to.
I agreed with myself the most. I don't worry about critics. It's interesting to hear their takes on movies, but liking or not liking a film is mostly subjective.
Being funny is important when being a "comedienne." McCarthy didn't get that notice.
Richard Edlund's visual effects are the clear highlight.
Liotta was WILDLY over the top in this. He had a director who obviously did nothing to rein him in, in any way. Made the movie more goofball than it should have been.
Yup!
