In my eyes, Rocky is boring, and Sylvester Stallone is not nearly the actor Jake Gylenhall is, to me this movie is 100x better

shareThat's hard. The original Rocky basically started its own genre. Southpaw follows the same structure Stallone and co. masterfully created back in 1976. The soundtrack of Rocky and all of the sequels therein put the Rocky franchise above any wannabe, including Southpaw. Stallone made Rocky The Godfather of inspirational sport movies, and it was a shot in the dark basically. It's the best thing he's done in his career and he knows it.

shareFirst of all, "Rocky" is a movie of it's time, and considered a classic by it's fans. You can't fairly compare a film from 1976 to something made in 2015. However, if you compare "Southpaw" to "Creed," the new Rocky installment...well "Creed" is about one billion times better than this sappy Lifetime movie "Southpaw" any day. I'm sorry, but if you think "Southpaw" is a good film, then you have been duped.

Exactly what i think. Creed is way better. Compare the fight scenes in both movies and everyone will see. Especially the final knockdown by JG, is so fake and plastic. Wow couldn't ruin it more than that.
