Worst movie ever?

A stupid guy who tries to bed every woman whom he encounters. Who is also a greedy liar, ready to do anything to get money. In the end he's not changed - tries to bed the third sister (who of course is very happy about that). And he's supposedly the hero whom the watchers (i.e. mostly children) are supposed to praise and learn from? What is the message that this movie is sending? For boys: do whatever you want, cheat etc., you're a hero if you believe in it and everyone will love you. For girls: wait patiently for your hero, and even if he's a cheater (in all meanings of this word) love him nevertheless because he's a great guy.

Can you imagine a movie where a man (let's call him Theodorus) just after one day of knowing a woman cries about a broken heart, goes mad and completely destroys his own life?

I understand that this is a century old story, but please Disney, let it remain in it's grave of history, the only place where it belongs.

Seriously worst film ever? give me a break. This was and above average film. I personally loved it. Have you seen Movie 43? that was terrible but to call something the worst ever come on. This film was full of great actors, a good story, great effects. Mila Kunis wasn't that great once she turned bad, but I thought acting all around was good. I thought they did a great job on this prequel.

reply

If it gives you a good laugh then it's not a worst movie.

It cracks me up everytime someone throws around the "Worst Movie Ever!" title to try and emphasize the fact they didn't like it. You didn't like a certain movie? That's fine. But I can tell you Oz is far from the worst-- Its fairly average at best.
Here are a few films you guys may need to watch to raise Oz a few notches from WORST EVER!!!!

Battlefield Earth
The Adventures of Pluto Nash
Hudson Hawk
Jack and Jill
White Chicks
Ishtar
Movie 43
The Room
Howard the Duck
Big Mamas Father and Son
The Twilight saga
Catwoman

There's plenty more, trust me...

reply

Actually there are worse movies then that.

Manos the Hands of Fate
Hellcats (1969)
The Galaxy Invaders
The Pod People
Crater Lake Creature
Reefer Madness
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny
Little Shop of Horrors (1960)

I could go on forever. Frankly people today cant just lay back and enjoy a movie. They have to be cynical nitpickers. Nobody is saying this movie is a masterpiece or better then the original. But the way people react to this movie. You would think this was Batman and Robin all over again.

Worst movie? Naaaa. You need to see "Phoenix the Warrior," and a few others of that ilk.

"Worst movie ever? " YOUR NEW TO IMDB. Go to the top of the page and they lost the top 250 worst movies and the bottom 250. This movie didn't come close to being in the bottom 250. Newbies often ask the location a movie was made. There is a place for that too.

reply

This wouldn't even make the top 1000 worst movies ever. I suspect, you haven't seen a crap movie before!

Try watching Leonard part 6 or Birdemic if you want to know what a crap movie is.

reply

To even imply that this is the worst movie ever shows you have ZERO knowledge of film history. Seriously.

"Worst movie ever?" Obviously, you're very young. You should try viewing a few hundred more movies before you make such a ludicrous claim.

Your points are a bit weak for this assertion. It's a somewhat valid observation, though.

The movie was very weak, itself, though, quite hokey and a bit racist--face it: the conclusion has the white man in the tophat gather the monkey, the two africanesque actors, and the "china doll" all lined up to get the just pay for their hard work, and it turns out they're all slaves("you get friendship! and you get respect!"), who get to watch him kiss the white chick in the ball gown.

I would say, it does have the redeeming quality of not flagrantly slamming highly offensive tripe down the audience's throats every single minute, a saving grace of sorts that keeps it from the absolute bottom of the barrel, but... it's quite far down the totem pole.

On the brightside, it has enough plotholes to drive an 11 season TV series through, so disney channel may be seeing that, I guess.

Now, if only we had a likeable character(the doll? I don't know.), we'd be set.

So let me see if I have this straight, if they only have white actors, the movie is racist. By having non whites, its racist. Tell you what, a person who sees racism where none exists, is a greater sign of racism.
