Even tho the movie is deeply flawed, it is far and I mean FAAAAAAAR from being the worst movie ever. The intro is very imaginative, I personally loved it.

I don't think it is as horrible as many people believe and surely don't think it is the worst movie ever, that's in my personal opinion ''Shoot 'Em Up''.

It is CLOOOOOSE to being the worst film. Heck, it is arguably one of the worst crap of 2013. The few ratings I gave it were because of the China Town idea (and who can hate that adorable girl?) and of course, the gorgeous scenery but we all know that is not all a movie should be about. It was so stupid that I couldn't stop laughing AT the movie while watching it, OMG!

And do not even get me started on the "most beautiful witch of the land" that I kept hearing every 10 minutes. Are you kidding me? The two sisters were way hotter. Being blonde does not automatically make someone hot and if it was so important that the good witch be the most beautiful witch, they shouldn't have cast Weisz and Kunis beside her.... or Williams beside them. Just saying.

I disagree. I think Michelle Williams is stunning in this movie. I could not stop looking at her when she was on screen. I don't even find her all that attractive most of the time, but she is so beautiful in this film. Mila is hot and Weisz is very hot too, but for whatever reason I would take Michelle Williams in this film over both of them.

When the hero becomes the villain....who becames the hero?

If this is a reply to me…this is a thread on IMDb. In your world, nobody expresses opinions? And, expressing an opinion, makes one a child, or stupid? But, yes, the film is awful, and has already been determined as such, by the vast majority. It will be forgotten. It made back its budget, but that's excluding marketing, which doubles the cost.

This is laughable. No, the film is not awful. That is just your opinion. The vast majority liked or loved it, or at least thought it was decent. That includes critics. To say the vast majority thought it was awful is absolutely 100% false. Just say you don't like it and move on. Don't spew garbage by acting as if your opinion is fact and the whole world agrees with you.

It will be forgotten by you. Those of us who liked it will continue to like it. Again, stop trying to justify your opinion by spewing fallacies about how the whole planet agrees with you. And the merchandising alone helped it make its marketing budget back. A sequel has already been commissioned.

Your entire logic is contradicted by the scores on this site, yahoo movies, twitter, etc. At worst, you could say the general consensus is that it's an above average film. To say that the vast majority agrees that it's an awful film is you spreading lies.

In order for someone to say that a movie has been deemed "awful" by the vast majority, a movie has to have a RT score of less then 50%, and it's IMDB score has to be below 4. And on twitter the general consensus has to be that the movie is terrible. None of that applies to this movie. A movie it does apply to is Winter's Tale. That's an example of a movie that the majority has deemed as awful.

Now in addition to rotten tomatoes and twitter and IMdb, I just checked the amazon.com ratings. 3 and a half stars, which indicates a solid, middle of the road movie, and it has over 712 5 star reviews.

I don't understand how you can say that the vast majority of people thought it was awful. Every site I trust for reviews that I've gone on, including imdb, has more positive reviews than negative ones. 59% positive from critics is more than half, as well.

Sorry you didn't like it. I and my entire family enjoyed it. I hope we get to see Princess Ozma in the sequel.

Plus, most people are not on IMDb, as we are. I work in the industry - have for thirty years - so I have a reason to be. I would say by your misplaced fervor, that you were somehow involved with this film, but by your dialogue, I can tell that's not the case. That's actually very incorrect. The vocal minority is called that because negative people like to go on boards like this and blast a movie. The people who liked a movie tend to not need any forum to discuss their love for a film.

Misplaced fervor? So you're saying I'm not allowed to like a movie and that you have virtually nothing to back up your point that most people thought the film was awful. You said the same thing about critics, and yet the official site for keeping track of critic scores shows that you're wrong as more than 50% liked the film. And even some of the negative reviews say the film was solid, not awful at all.

Old maids and aunts? Excuse me? Why show such disrespect? I am trying to engage you in a polite conversation, and all you do is insult and deny facts. I'm thinking the other guys are right when they say you're a troll.

It's becoming quite evident that you suffer from some sort of chemical imbalance and are just out to rage against your fellow man.

If you didn't like the movie, that's your problem. Most of us liked it, and the sales of the DVD and merchandise were large enough to merit a sequel to Baum's legendary works. Empire, the absolute top magazine about movies gave the movie 4 out of 5 stars. That speaks volumes. And the people on Amazon of all ages who don't use other social media sites are all praising the hell out of it. Heck, even Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith of ESPN praised the movie on their first take morning show- and they rarely talk about movies, so that just goes to show much they enjoyed the movie.

I don't know what Planet you live on, but here on Earth, the vast majority had determined that this movie is pretty good. Solid. You must be talking about the imaginary friends in your head if you think the vast majority has determined it's awful. By saying stuff like that, you are indeed making yourself come across as a troll. The actual number scores from fans and critics show that the vast majority consider it to be far from awful. Most people might not love it, but to say the vast majority thinks it's awful is a falsehood that borders on trolling.

I just watched it and I hated it. The only reason I gave this a 2 star rating is because of the graphics and the colors were beautiful but the story and the characters were dumb.

You should rate the film comparing to the other films on IMDB. for example
Justin Bieber: Never say Never- 1.7
Epic Movie- 2.3
The Barbaric Beast of Boggy Creek, Part II- 2.0
You are saying Oz the Great and Powerful is as bad as these films, which have no redeemable features at all. For a film which looks as good as Oz, it should automatically get a 5 or 6 (which means he film is still bad, but not disastrous)
the only two films I have rated a 1 is,
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2
and 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams
they are truly horrible, torturous films

The fan reaction overall is very positive. I hope this thread is a joke. It's a solid film. Not even close to be one of the worst films ever made or even one of the worst films of the year.

And it seems the Op didn't pay close attention to the film. Glinda is NOT the sister of Theodora and Evanora. And the message of the movie is that he changes and becomes a good person. He realizes he has goodness inside of him.

I, personally, enjoyed the movie.

Did it live up to the original? No .... Nothing ever will.

Was it the worst thing I've ever seen? No. I found 'The Hobbit' to be much worse than this. I couldn't even make myself finish that movie.

I thought the acting done was done well, as the characters are so young and volatile. I actually think the acting was intentional, to help push that point along. We are not going to see the characters we see in 'Wizard of Oz', because they have been through more, and have grown many years from the time in 'OtGaP'.

Overall, I liked it, and am happy to have it part of the 'Oz' DVD collection.

Not worst movie of all times, but that it takes the prize for worst movie of the year, budget-wise is likely. Clichés really piled up in this movie, i counted to about ten before i stopped caring, just throw 'em all in there!

What was up with the clothing of Mila Kunis? It looked like a cross between 50s and leather - who came up with that? It reminded me of a kinder garden play where the kids choose their own clothes "just because this is nice, that is cool".

I felt it was going to be a bad movie when there were too much special effects and colours in the beginning, overcompensation for lack of script it seemed like.
Not much more to say, since i have already mentioned the things i found most irritating. I wish they could have just given the budget of this film to something useful, like cancer-research instead. Ridiculous.
