When I watch *beep* like Superman IV and Batman & Robin, they are so bad I have a good time watching anyway by simply pointing out the laughable points.
But The Wolverine, it nearly got me to sleep halfway. That never ever happens to a superhero movie. Not Watchmen, not Punisher, not even Super.
I just can't get excited seeing this. Wolverine fights some samurais or ninjas, that's supposed to be awesome! But instead the action scenes are so mediocre and few there's not a single memorable fighting scene.
And there's the so-called romance. Wolverine knew these people for like 5 seconds and suddenly they're his responsibilities? None of these characters are properly introduced and I'm supposed to care about what happens to them?
This awkward relationship which takes half of screen time has no beginning nor end, it's like a joke, a revenge against the *beep* old man and her father. She's supposed to compensate for the loss of Jean?
Virtually all the scenes are utterly lifeless and devoid of any sense of reality. People talk in exposition. They're not interested in accomplishing anything so much as wanting to grandstand. The fight scenes are similarly garbage because they spend so much time talking bulls--t to one another in such a calm manner that it gives away the fact that no one is really all that concerned with their own safety/defeating their opponent.
I'm surprised at the amount of people praising this movie, rating it 10! It delivers as a basic superhero film, but definitely far from being among the best. It clumsily builds a supposed romance that goes nowhere, botches a few characters and most of the action sequences are nowhere near exciting. It's the goddamn Wolverine vs ninjas, yet it's boring. I guess a great Wolverine fan will love this, more than the Origins one, but comparing this to the latest X-Men films is criminal.
The reason why you feel this way is the movie IS crap, and utilises a unoriginal script format, i mean did we both (and others) NOT see the love scene coming?
wow i find that both UNORIGINAL and racist!!
first why can't white people and america in general NOT make a film where the guy and girl can't just do what they're suppose to do, catch the baddies and the end? It may sound boring, but thats the point of good script writing, good casting, good acting, and the reason why directors get so much money to find away around that. The love scene is not necessary, thats why bollywood films (typically made fun of by westerners) is done with NO sex, heck there's not even kissing and STILL can convey love
SECOND this is so racist and unoriginal where the ethnic girl (in this case asian) is so horny that she can't help by throw herself at the white man.
because those asians and latinos must throw themselves at white men right?
Also if its soooo interactial i.e trying to promote equality, why is it never asian GUY and white GIRL? its no different to real life. RACIST AND STEREOTYPED!! THOUGHT1: Mariko sure didn't think twice to murder his own grand father, and without even bothering to talk to him THOUGHT2: was it necessary for logan to kill Yashida? hell he never said he wanted logan to die, he was just so desperate to stay alive he became obsessed with the healing factor. These films these days INCLUDING kids cartoons (EG. THE INCREDIBLES) go TOO far. Why do people need to die? for the hero to be the victor? I'm not going soft on you guys, sometimes its cool to have a action scene by like like a bruce willis film, but it DOESN'T always need to end like that, remember its a superhero film. So what? we're teaching kids that to win we must kill the opponent?
THOUGHTS3: It was so poorly scripted where they were so desperate to create some shock/drama value where Yashida was behind it all along, I mean he went from super good to super evil? thats a unbelievable scenario, ESPECIALLY where Yukio didn't even do crap to help out. I mean you're telling me, this guy was so nice where he save Yukio from homelessness would be some evil villian like this?? come on peoples.
p.s wasn't only one person who ever had the ability to manipulate the metal adapantium? why could Yashida do this? and how did wolverine just pry bits of the armour off so easily?
pps jean gray belongs to cyclops, stop making it seem like she prefers logan

Whoa whoa whoa. This was not just "a white guy" that the lady slept with. This was Hugh Freakin' Jackman. And lemme say that I know a legion of white women who'd put out for Antonio Banderas.
If he had turned Mariko down and slept with a white chick in Japan instead, someone would've said "What? Are Asians not good enough for Wolverine? Is he racist or something?" yadda yadda
P.S. You don't know how to spell adamantium.
P.P.S. The Jean Grey you see in this movie is a projection of Wolverine's angsty mind, not the real Jean.
P.P.P.S. This is not a kids' movie. Go watch "Thor" or something, where killing Loki would've solved about a thousand problems, but they didn't kill him. Or "Batman and Robin". Or "The Incredibles" where Syndrome only dies because he's wearing a cape, not because anyone killed him.
There is no objective reality... and that's Sucker Punch
Also if its soooo interactial i.e trying to promote equality, why is it never asian GUY and white GIRL? its no different to real life. RACIST AND STEREOTYPED!!
There are actually dozens of those movies. Several of them are Jackie Chan films like The Medallion (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYLsKIQW6Ls) and The Tuxedo (where his love interest was Jennifer Love Hewitt). You also have a couple of superhero movies, including "The Crow" and big budget blockbusters like a couple of the Fast and the Furious movies (although I haven't seen those myself, so I'm basing this off of second hand information). Then you have comedies like "The Perfect Score." And these are just off the hand examples. Are there as many of these movies as there ones where the female love interest is Asian? Probably not, but it doesn't never happen as you said either.
SECOND this is so racist and unoriginal where the ethnic girl (in this case asian) is so horny that she can't help by throw herself at the white man.
You seem to have a sexist view of this as you keep going back to the idea that they didn't know each other long in your argument, as if to suggest that the film is depicting the female Asian character as less than because she does not act in a way that you would consider appropriate, which would be a problem, not with the film, but with you as a viewer. Your verb choice of describing Jean Gray's relationship with Cyclops lends further credence to this view:
pps jean gray belongs to cyclops, stop making it seem like she prefers logan
Perhaps English is not your native language and you meant that you think they belong together. However, given your other dubious comments I tend to think you fall into the camp of people who view this as what they refer to as the foreigner corrupting/taking "our" women.
As someone who is not uncomfortable with people having casual sex and does not feel that a woman belongs to anyone but herself, I do not see what race has to do with Mariko and Wolverine hooking up under a stressful situation. The West does have a history of abusing foreign women in horrific ways that should be acknowledged. However, to blindly associate any instance of two modern individuals having consensual sex with that history is unfair. This isn't James Bond where women throw themselves at him to service male viewers' fantasies and sometimes they have to be "conquered" by him. That was an example that I think you were right to bring up as there are a whole host of problems with those interactions. However, I did not see any of those here. Mariko is a fully formed, intelligent character who made a decision that is not outside of the norms for a modern individual and should be respected as her decision to make without judgment or scorn.
