If people are that dumb to pay $7 for a movie they dont know what is going to be about they deserve to get a Boll flop instead of his best work to date AKA Postal.
If somebody was to go back and Re-edit 'Heart of America' and remove the cliche's, ridiculous voiceover, and alter the structure, I think we'd see that he has made a good film.
"It's better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it"
I think he is. He was fun to make fun of; I did earlier on. let's not forget the early spielberg truck movie. I say give him a chance. he's doing what most of us can only DREAM
I've been watching some bad old, Italian films(usually Zombie films) and I have to say that Uwe Boll isn't sounding as bad as I originally thought he was.
I kinda liked BloodRayne 2, Alone in the Dark, Postal(sorta) and In the Name of the King, even though they are all bad movies.
I think the reason why everyone hates him is because his movies are theatrical.if he just remained on DTV, no one would care.
well i don't mind if a videogame based movie takes a different apporach. but uwe's approach is always aweful.
saw tunnel rats yesterday in a sneak preview and no one could actually believe HOW BAD it was. most of the folks stayed - shocked and in awe... unable to move, somehow wondering 'whyyy??'
after the screening the movie even got a half minute of cynical applause.
"Spielberg's truck movie" should not be made fun of. It's called "Duel", and it's still a fine piece of cinema. My cinema teacher called it Spielberg's best film, and I would pretty much agree.
Uwe Boll, on the other hand, has been given quite enough chances to prove himself. Has he made it? I think not.
I've seen 1/4th of Far Cry, which reminded me of a 1980's Arnold flick, which I totally loved about it. Tunnel Rats on the other hand? It's not only Uwe's best movie to date, but it's actually quite possibly in my top three favorite war movies of all time. I can't even begin to describe how amazingly happy that movie made me. It's a STRAIGHT FORWARD, no drama bullsh!t kind of movie. It isn't Hollywood-ized, and it honestly succeeds with honors at what it was trying to fulfill in the first place.
"Twilight crawled across the sky, laden with foreboding."
It isn't Hollywood-ized, and it honestly succeeds with honors at what it was trying to fulfill in the first place.
Oh dear, 'Isn't Hollywood-ized'? Are you serious? *The Tunnels were in Cu-chi, not in the middle of a jungle *Even the most whacked out G.I's never set up a semi-permanent base camp in the Jungle. *All their uniforms are clean and new!! *They're using the wrong rifles! I could go on but it's so obvious you'll see for yourself.
There has been so little research done into the history behind this film it's almost insulting, This is a perfect example of Hollywood-ization (?) but done so poorly you can't even categorize it as a Hollywood film.
Folks if you want to see a low budget Vietnam film that actually captures the essence of the time (Draft/drugs/social reform/ racism) check out Charlie Mopic 84. That's how it's done.
yes, he definetely is - and never give a FXXX on the imdb ratings of his movies.postal was close to a genre masterpiece, seeed defenitely had its moments, far cry was good and now tunnel rats. he's getting better, he just needed his time (and more money) to show it - no matter what stupid boll-bashers write, think and rate.
