So...a cat dies in this movie, huh?
Pahahaha.
Sam Raimi is the only person who can pull that off.

*beep* that i seriously pissed my self when arkin threw a burning dog at the collector! whahahahaha.
shareI've been able to stomach a lot of *beep* in movies in my day, but I dare say the cat sequence was the most horrible thing I've ever seen in a movie. And yes, I like cats.
"Why are you screaming? I haven't even cut you yet. . ."
I have not problem and in fact am all for animal activists making sure animals are not harmed for the sake of making a movie. Saying that if you get upset over a fake stuffed or CGI Cat dying in a movie your just a loser. That's like someone drawing a picture of a cat and then ripping up that paper and then complaining that he killed a cat. Just because it looks more real in a movie doesn't make it any less make believe.

A human can pick up a gun and blow you away without getting close to you...an animal has to get close to you to harm you. Animals also have no choice on killing it is natural instinct. Humans have a choice over their actions because they are inhibited and restrained in this area by conscience, intellect and reason.
I also think it is funny that some of these people on the board think it is cool to kill and torture animals. Hate to tell them, but they need help. It is a sign of a potenial serial killer. Animal abuse is a recognized sign of a mental disorder.
And a dog.
Boondock Saints does the best cat murder though.

Anyone who feels the need to express his amusement of an animal getting killed are not to be counted as human and are to be used for the rest of our amusement.
If you ever experience miscarriage post a pic with you and your partner looking devastated next to the bloody sheets.
Now *THAT* would be funny.
This is another example of a sad person taking something WAAAAAAAAAY too far. Not only was your statement unnecessary because the people are talking about a FAKE cat being killed in a movie. But you think it would be humorous for them to lose a REAL baby....this only further proves their point that people like you value animal lives over human lives....and even those of defenseless unborn babies. This makes you sick and less worthy of being counted as a human. Someone who expresses amusement at a baby dying and parents grieving has way more issues than someone who thinks a cat death is funny. You need help.
Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them. I don't give a *beep* how crazy they are!

i guess i'm one of those animal lovers.
like most, i can see a thousand people die and it not bother me but there's just something about someone killing/hurting/torturing an animal that just boils my blood. something seems intrinsically bad or evil with people who torture animals.
animals are easy victims and for the most part, when by comparison are completely defenseless.
my dad and i picked up a dog (pitbull) walking along the highway a few months ago; he was obviously raised to fight - ears clipped, scars (a lot of scars) all over his face and body. he had welts, puss filled gash on his face, well-beyond the point of being underfed, basically starving. he can't walk right, his gait is very odd - legs appear to have been broken at some point or were bound and forced to grow deformed like.... oh and he had been completely covered in black motor oil and gasoline.
animal was completely broken - go to pet him and he cowers, afraid of almost any movement, noise.
that was months ago. now, he's finally starting to 'normalize' i guess, and for a pitbull he's one of the most loving, gentle dogs i've ever known.
i can't for any reason understand what it is in some people, that allows them to be so cruel as to abuse an animal.
This was only the third time a cat has been killed in a horror film.
