So...a cat dies in this movie, huh?

Pahahaha.

Sam Raimi is the only person who can pull that off.

I felt way worse about the cat's unfortunate death than any of the humans. I don't know what that says about me, but whatever.

Also, the dog.

Because smallish animals like Cats are inherently way less able to defend themselves than humans.

That's why it's cuts us so deep.

I did not enjoy the Cat suffering and bleeding from the acid wax. Arkin was trying to save the Cat. If he wanted to set the trap off he could've threw a book at it. He even looks shocked when the Cat is killed. To me this makes him more sympathetic because he was trying to help the Cat.

Every small creature on Earth should be allowed to defend itself with arms. The gun lobby will be so pleased.

...it's just another dumb film, get over it.

I didn't feel particularly bad about the animals in the movie although it did make my stomach churn a bit. Call me an animal rights activist, a nut job with no more intelligence than a house cat or whatever but if I had to make a life or death choice between you(in a general sense) or one of my pets I'd pick my pets. People as a collective unit pretty much suck( individuals are okay). I wouldn't save your life, a person whom I do not know, over my pet(whom I have a personal bond with) simply because you happen to be the same species as me.

I felt so bad for the cat when it was burning from the yellow wax! I'd rather have it die by being chopped in half (which is a fast death) than to have to watch it suffer from getting burned by the yellow wax slowly!
