guys... if you dont like her dont watch her movies and if u do watch it over and over but stop squabbling over an actress. she will do the movies she wants, she will fake her accent if and when she pleases. There are worse actors than her and better than her. SHe just has a universal sort of look thats why she is internationally famous. not because she is prettier or because more talented. plus this was for non-indians, i dont know why we are here in the first place!

I'm a white american, i find her to be extremely beautiful...and as for the remarks made against her saying she loooks like an aging hispanic drag queen, LOL i think if those queens really did, theyd be on the cover of magazines by now...There is nothing more pathetic than women hating on another women just because she's beautiful

She is crazy.

Wow, you guys are d-i-c-k-s.

Of course, you want a non-Indian opinion, but you'll just get a slew of ignorance. Plenty of non-Indians recommended Namesake (2007), Monsoon Wedding (?), and other movies of the sort toting that they're the greatest Indian movies of all time. This said when they haven't seen that many (and both of those movies sucked).

Aishwarya Rai is incredibly beautiful and has made movies that are recognized by many Indians today just by mention. If you're analytical about acting, I suppose you could argue that she's not that great, but if you understand the normal Bollywood film then her acting's great.

To break into another society and culture and do movies probably looks easier than it seems. I would piss myself if I had to assimilate into another culture and try to impress that audience. If she's getting into big roles, good for her.

I wanted to see the 'non-Indian' outlook of one of the most famous actresses of our culture today and I got what I expected. A bunch of negative *beep*

Well I am a non-indian so here is my opinion. I think she played rather well in The Pink Panther 2. Nothing special about her acting but I realy don't understand why people say she can't act. Still I can't be quite sure about her acting skills because of her looks. I mean - WOW! It's kind of difficult to follow the movie when you are looking at her. Actually i dragged my friends to watch pp2 mainly because of her. She is a unique beauty!

Bollywood and Hollywood are NOT the same..and they never will be..Top Bollywood actors will be ranked in the C-Grade in Hollywood, except for some low-ranked bollywood actors like Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher, Naseeruding Shah, Tabu, who though are ranked lowly in bollywood, would probably be ranked B-Class in Hollywood(which is really good) compared A-Class hollywood actors like Pitt, Clooney, depp, streep etc...

You make your own destiny(well if you want to or steal someone else's)

I am an Indian. The truth is Aishwarya is very, very beautiful, but one of the worst actresses in India. All the same, she gets hyped a lot even in India because she has managed to get a lot of attention in the West due to her looks. If you are interested in good performances, check out Kangana Ranaut, Rani Mukherjee, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Amrita Rao and of course the eternal Madhuri Dixit.

I'm French and big fan of Indian cinema, espacially Tamil cinema. I've seen few movies with Aish, she can act very well when she works with good directors (bengali director Rituparno Ghosh or tamil director Mani Ratnam who introduced her with "Iruvar") but I'm definitely not one of her fans.

I think she still looks stunning at 35-36....look at the premiere pics of pp2.

And shes a good actress.Ppl find it hard to accept her as a good actress coz she

started as a model...and all her life shes been known for her looks. Had she come

straight into movies ppl wud have seen her in different light. Its not very

obvious....and a lot of ppl here wud disagree ....but that does affect our way of

looking at her.Most ppl dont even think when they say she cant act....they just

have that opinion for no reason.

Aishwarya had her glory days but they're long gone now. She should have stuck to doing traditional Indian roles. IMO, try to westernize her a wee bit and her whole persona gets lost and she comes off as shallow.

As such, I liked her performances in Devdas (the most, in fact), Umraao Jaan, Jodhaa Akbar and Guru but hated her in Dhoom 2 (God knows why I even bothered to go through with it!), the Pink Panther 2, Bride & Prejudice, etc.

Also, her fake wannabe-British/American accent is terrible and I feel half of her acting skills disappear due to her concentrating on maintaining the accent. She should stick to Indian roles.

Her miss world days were over 13 years ago.That helped her to get into films but
thats not helping her get films now.Actresses her age r struglling...and shes still doing well.
