im not indian im white/british but im a huge fan of aishwarya rai, i think shes possibly the most beautiful woman on earth (so not fair!)and shes also an incredibly talented actress.
i havent seen the movie though yet!

I've seen Provoked and Jodhaa. Provoked was pathetic, and its message was dangeruos. Revenge is not ok. It should not be celebrated or acceptable. She just stared into empty space. Her cries where whimpers. She didn't go "there". Jodhaa Akbar was waaay too long. The first hour and a half was wasteful and there was no real plot. But I have to admit, the clothes and scenery were great.

I see you have not mentioned "The Mistress of Spices" and "The Last Legion"....

I respect your opinion though. If you like her acting, then that's just you. Personally, I don't like her acting. But hey, she's got legions of fans. This is just my personal opinion.

Hey, I am Australian and I love her, she is so beautiful. But that's just my opinion of course. I also have to say that she is alot better in the hindi films than the english speaking roles. She has really improved in acting since her first roles, they were pretty bad.

Aish is regarded as one of the most popular and influential celebrities in India and is often cited in the media as the "most beautiful woman in the world".

And at top if she is not gorgeous and having world-wide fame then how she had won the Miss India and Miss World pageants of 1994.

U should positively see Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam ,Taal ,Devdas ,Dhoom 2 etc then u would know why she is fabulous.

She was also awarded the 2nd highest Order Of France, Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2012.

U should be proud of our Indian Actress.

I thought she was great. This movie didn't require subtle acting skills.

It is for a juvenile audience, so I wish they hadn't included so much sexual stuff. I took two 7 year-olds, and they loved it, mostly because of the slapstick, and fortunately, much of the sexual innuendos went over their heads.

She's gotta be the most non-talented woman in the world. All looks, thats it. The only reason she even became an "actor" was cuz she's a former miss world. I have seen numerous movies with her in them n every single one of em were just pathetic mainly because of her. Heck, she even brings down decent performances of her co-workers. Hopeless facial expressions, annoying voice and a box full of make up.

There was a time when I actually considered her beautiful, but now she's gained weight n trying to look all flashy n hot. Its just sad. Can't stand her for a sec. To even call her an "actress" would be an embarrassment to acting.

no i agree roshan, asin is GORGEOUS. i think aishwarya was beautiful in her day but now shes just too old, she has to make way for people like deepika, asin, priyanka and bipasha.

How about a spin-off of Gossip Girl and Skins?

That's a sweeping statement. The Hindi film industry's requirements are vastly different from Hollywood. A MAJOR factor is the ability to dance, which Aishwarya performs to perfection.

While we are on sweeping statements :

Unfortunately, due to the fact that Aish doesn't show off her tits, doesn't flash her naked bottom to the paparazzi, doesn't have a sex video from her teenage years, and doesn't get caught for driving under the influence of cocaine, there's little chance she'll ever be discussed in a deified (oh how we love our tragic Hollywood whores) manner on these boards.

And if she returns to Bombay for good, she will also not die of a drug overdose while masturbating and strangling herself with a rope inside a wardrobe.

So obviously, there goes her dream of ever being a Hollywood legend.

Don't get me wrong. I love Hollywood films. But Hindi films are just better :)

Are you *beep* kidding me?? You do realize that 95% of Bollywood movies are STOLEN from Hollywood, right? And the rest is pure garbage!!!
Only 1% of that is good cinema and unfortunately it comes and goes unnoticed by the Indian media!
You might not want to use that statement again... even Hollywood is realizing how Bollywood has been stealing their stories for so many years now. So saying indian films are better makes you look like an idiot !!!

She's a talented actress who's talent goes underrated because she is so beautiful. The great Mani Ratnam called her underrated.
I recommend Umrao Jaan if you want to see how real she can be onscreen. Guru, JA, HDDCS, Raincoat etc. She's got talent.

As for Pink Panther 2. She was the best thing in this movie.

I'm european so i haven't seen that many movies with Aishwarya. The last one i saw was "Bride and prejudice" (yet another Jane Austen adaptation), and as an actress she was good. There was nothing wrong with her acting in that or in any other movie i saw with her in it. So i'm guessing phrases saying that "she is the most untalented woman" or "to call her an actress is embarrassing" are understatements.

As a person, i have to say Aishwarya is an extremely beautiful, beautiful, beautiful woman. I fell for her the first moment she appeared on screen.

This may sound mean, but the majority of Indians who can't stand her, it is simply because she misrepresents true Indian beauty. If you go to India, most of the women won't look like her. So they hate her because other people praise her. They don't feel her like she is one of them.

Her acting is ok, she's eye candy, she dances very well, only Madhuri could beat her... so stop being jealous and appreciate the woman!!!

I love India with all my heart but I can't stand hatred against Aishwarya just because she is beautiful in a Western-way... and I'm not her fan. My favorite actors are Kajol, and SRK so don't label me.

Sorry to say, but Madhuri, Sridevi, Vajayntimala, Waheeda Rahman, Hema Malini, Jaya Prda can beat her in dance any day.

And her acting comes at the lowest level when compared to otehr top actresses.

Her acting is not very good but she's better than Kareena Kapoor who is the worst actress ever. Aishwariya can't act in English though. Her performace in Provoked and Bride and Prejudice was truly awful. And provoked was a badly-made film made by a soft-porn director (look him up if you don't believe me).

Thank you for acknowledging it! Let me add to that list Helen, Rekha, Asha Parekh, Shilpa Shetty and even Reena Roy. Ash is more flexible in terms of "kicking her legs" compared to most Indian actresses (Helen and Rekha are only those whom can compete). While she is a ood dancer, she is not the best who came out of India.

Actually, I think Aishwarya is a better dancer than Madhuri. Aish and Madz danced side by side in Dola Re Dola Re and Aish's dancing made my jaw drop - Madz' didn't.
