It makes me sad that the Disney fandom hates this movie

I don't understand all the hate. I thought it was a great story with great characters and great animation. I used to work at my local Disney store, and I used to hear all the time how this movie "wasn't Disney" and that Tiana was dull and boring.

I definitely don't hate the movie, but it's not one of my favorites. Tiana, for me, was the movie's only saving grace. I loved her character, but I hated Lottie, Naveen, the time Disney stuck the movie in, and the music. I might have liked it better if it wasn't in such a modern time or if the characters were simply less annoying.

since when?

in my experience it's one of those movies like hunchback and atlantis that the fans NEVER shut up about. "oh it's so underrated, it's so good, I hate frozen and cinderella, give me more patf/atlantis/etc. merchandise!!!!"

if everyone says a thing is underrated, is it now?

That's wrong with you, you should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how

I thought it was a good, but not great, movie. Would have been nice had Tiana not been a frog for most of the movie, since Tiana is a great Disney Princess. Quite possibly my favorite. I didn't like Louie the alligator. He was not funny, just annoying. At least some of the other Disney sidekicks are somewhat funny sometimes. And I didn't like Mama Odie. I wish she was less goofy and more serious as well. And there wasn't one memorable song that stuck out. Otherwise I enjoy the movie.

But part of me wishes that, as a Black princess, we would have seen a tribal African princess instead. But that's just me.
