Why does everyone hate Hayley

She's a sociopath, and it's probably the best captured personality defect captured in this film entirely. Her intention never changes, she wants him dead, and just over an hour into the movie, as he's lying there tied to the table, it stops being hidden when he tells her "I'll do whatever you want. You can call the cops, I'll say I did whatever you wanted," to which she responds "I don't think they're gonna believe a confession under these circumstances, Jeff." She doesn't want him to go to jail, she wants him dead, and not because he's a hebophile (which is what he is, as far as I can tell) but because she's a sociopath who wants him to die. The whole issue of his sexual preference is just her excuse, a way for her to feel justified in killing his sorry ass. That's why people don't like her, I imagine.

Sure, Jeff is a bad guy, we're shown this fairly early on in the movie, but he's a bad guy because of a mental flaw that is compareable to being attracted exclusively to brunettes, as odd as it may sound. Her being bad is a mental (or physical, some believe) defect that makes her a *beep* more dangerous than he'll ever be. No ifs or buts, she's a psycho, he's a hebophile.

Because she is a sociopath, and her last line shows her completely lack of ability to empathize.

I thought that I was in the American Dad thread and for a while was like "what the hell kind of episode was that?!".

Why does everyone hate her? Maybe because she's a little sociopath? I'm ten minutes away from ending this film. Somehow I just know she will NOT get the slow death she deserves.

I didn't hate her but I didn't condone her actions either, Jeff never admitted to killing or raping kids but he did admit to watching the girls though. However this confession came after physical and emotional torture, it is well know that innocent pepole will confess crimes under such circumstances. Also this is possibly the second time she has done this to someone which suggests a disregard for the Law and her own psychological issues. Talking someone into killing themselves may amount to murder in the eyes of the law and was uncomfortable to watch. She should have gathered her evidence and took it to the police.

I like Hayley. I mean, she cool, tough and I think, you are not a pedophile she also is nice to you.
