I really saw a lot, a lot of movies but never seen such a really really bad film like this. I really like all the people involved, thats why i watched it, but theres NO scene in this film i would recommand to anybody to watch - not even the credits-musical-sequence is funny. Im so bored and angry - never thought a film like this would be possible in a system which is making movies for an audience and not for stupid religious reasons.
I bought it because A) I like Steve as an actor and B) It was something I could watch with the kids
And the entire family giggled and smiled through the film, my kids have seen it about 4 times since we got the DVD about a week ago so I'd say it was worth the money :)
yeah, a bird *beep* on a guy's shoulder. *beep* hilarious. thats what i call a spectacular sense of humor. i'll bet their worst film of all time would be the big lebowski.
it's scary how much this movie sucks. also, people who find steve carell even remotely funny, should kill themselves. no question.
Wow, I'm really impressed by the effort you put to convey all these beautiful, profound and life-inspiring thoughts. A tear burst out and made a hole in my monitor :( I especially enjoyed the part where you suggest i should be subtle. Which shattered my perception of altruistic morons. I thought they were just urban myths.
Now, let me get a few things straight:
- I don't give a beep what you are fan of. - I don't give a beep about your eclectic tastes. - I don't give a beep about what you think is more 'fun' and 'worthwhile'. - I don't take advice from people who think they're enlightened with wit, just because they read Shakespeare.
I'm gonna put it down simple:
You're the guy who thinks that E. Almighty was an entertaining movie and who loved the 'encounters between God and Evan and his family'.
I'm the guy who thinks that the above stated is a load of pathetic *beep* and that the immediate growth of facial hair right after shaving it is NOT funny. Well, except if you're a child or retarded (or both).
You told me that I'm an idiot because of that, I expressed my deepest emotions of not giving a beep about that and told you to go beep yourself.
Ant that is, my friend, the bottom line.
So, what exactly is your point here? I mean, what do you think this is, 'i want to be a psychologist' audition?
Look, if you're half as smart as you tend to present yourself, you might realize that you should focus on monitoring something that might be more useful to you. My suggestion would be: your pill-taking intervals.
I'm not, i just implied it that way, so it would make me look 'gay'. Which is however a stupid reference made on purpose, to show that I don't mind having jokes addressed on my account.
I mean, do I really need to explain all this stuff?
I didn't read all the post on this subject but i will say irented the Dvd last night and i thought is was a wonderful movie i bet some thought it would be a silly movie like Bruce Almighty it had a few good chuckles but it is a good family movie i give it 5 out of 5 Stars and a thumbs up
I just watched this movie and was in a very good mood after (which is a sign that i enjoyed it) until I've seen this thread. With the title alone, it makes me wonder what made poster think so, until i read the part "not for stupid religious reasons". I think that's the part that accounts mostly for the creation of this thread.
I personally enjoyed it not just because of the screenplay and the casts, but also because of the character of God. Of course 'cause I believe in Him. If it was Buddha or other gods (no offense), it would have appeared ridiculous to me too and would also deem it as a bad movie.
I love Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman and I think they did a great job, and so with everyone else (including the kids).
Just the setting, the animals, and the family values and friendship, makes me smile all throughout the movie. I'm not calling this a first-rate comedy but I really really enjoyed it. Glad to know I still have the child in me.
PS. I don't like all the comedy movies I've seen. An example is "Our Idiot Brother" which I've come to watch because of Paul Rudd.
nonsense. It was superb. Great cast, hilarious most of them. The story was a great re-telling, the special effects worked superbly and the animals were extraordinary. If you can teach monkeys to drink from glasses simultaneously and lamas to use tools, then maybe you can do better?
