I really saw a lot, a lot of movies but never seen such a really really bad film like this. I really like all the people involved, thats why i watched it, but theres NO scene in this film i would recommand to anybody to watch - not even the credits-musical-sequence is funny. Im so bored and angry - never thought a film like this would be possible in a system which is making movies for an audience and not for stupid religious reasons.
I agree with you completely. The credits literally just ended. I only saw from halfway through because I went over to a friends house. I didn't want to watch it to begin with but I decided I would since my friends were. I regret it so much. I have seen many bad movies in my life and this was seriously on my list of top 5 horrible movies.
What I didn't get. And this is probably mentioned in another thread:
1. You stand up in congress. One second you have a suit and tie, the next second you are dressed in Noah's outfit. Miracle? No one questions this?
2. All these foriegn animals of all kinds are in the city. No one questions where they came from or try to contain them. And what was the point of all the exotic animals other than to make a big hollywood display. The world wasn't going to flood.
3. The ark is filled with people and animals. The wrecking ball is about to destroy it anyways with people and animals in it.
The movie could have been done better as more of a faith driven movie. He never got anyone to really believe in him until the dam started to brake. Even his coworkers were reluctant to climb aboard. Geez, I would want to get in the ark just to check it out.
No, not the worst movie ever, but I don't like all the loose ends. Oh, and the crotch shots and the banging of his thumb slap stick - Uhhh, not funny in the least. Done before in about a million movies.
Along with the repeated banging the hammer on the finger motif, who could forget the repeated bird poops on a character motif. They mined that comedy gold over and over again!
Yet another movie that reveals a large group of people with completely dissimilar movie tastes than me.
I actually liked Bruce Almighty, so I was like what the heck, why not watch the sequel too.. After watching (almost whole movie) I can say I wasted one hour of my life for total *beep* Humor sucked, because it was done for 5-10 year old kids. Bruce Almighty had something, that even as older ones would like. Bad movie, but defintately not the worst movie I have ever seen. I guess some younger people can get out of this more than me.
couldnt agree more...what an utter lack of sense of humor! A laugh track would have been really useful because I had no idea what was supposed to be funny! bruce almighty is great...but this one sucked big time....
I agree; one of the worst movies I've seen in the last couple of years. The attempts at humor were so unfunny, predictable and banal. Even Wanda Sykes one-liners were so out of context with the story; it was like a continuously running standup routine that had nothing to do with the movie it was inhabiting.
The flood sequence at the end was pretty ridiculous; the water goes right down the valley and doesn't flood the rest of the town. Stupid.
Steve Carrel is great, but give him something to work with!
There were so many things wrong with this movie that I can't even conceive how producers, investors, directors and actors and all conspired to make it.
It is truly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I think movies like Evan Almighty exist to make movies like Waterworld or Gili (spelling?) look awesome.
Yes its bad but not the worst movie. I only say that because i have not seen all movies that were ever made. if you have an hour and a half to waste then see this movie.
Just watched this after hearing from friends that it was cute and enjoyable family movie (yeah, they were friends from my Bible Study) and we enjoyed it. Hubby and I caught several references that went over the kids head but we all laughed and loved the end credits with the new commandment -"everybody dance now". It's not a 10 and I'm typically not a Steve Carell fan but it was worth the $1 at Redbox and the 1 1/2 hour with my family sharing some laughs. If you really want to watch a waste of a movie with numerous goofs, crappy acting and unbelievable scenes rent "The Marine" (with my apologies to all real Marines out there that they called this movie that.)
I have seen MANY MANY worse movies than this. There is no way I could say this is the one worst movie ever made. At least Morgan Freeman and Steve whats his name had good performances. I'm not saying it's great or that I could imagine everyone would like it, but saying it's the worst film ever seen is a huge stretch. I, for one, thought it wasn't bad and had funny parts.
Some of you are missing the point of this thread. It's not that we are picking the worst movie ever made, but that Evan Almighty is really, really bad.
