Did you like this movie?answer yes or no
Ill begin.
Yes
surly, yes,,matter of fact, one of the funniest movies i have ever seen,, and i want to say that i didn´t enjoy alot of comedies since a long time( actually since i was a teenager), but this one, though is a somehow silly, is one of the most humorous films i have seen lately and i couldn´t stop loughing through all of the movey and didnt feel the time passing too,,,
i didnt see sellers original film but this one is just tremendous!
I only saw this movie at all because I love Jean Reno. I thought it was funny though. My husband laughed out loud several times, which is rare for him. But I found Steve Martin annoying. Kevin Kline was great, and Clive Owen's part, though kind of weirdly placed, was entertaining. Oh, and Beyonce is such an awful actress... stop giving her parts in movies unless she sings the whole time, at least she can kind of do that.
shareYes very funny
I would like to buy a ha-boog-er
you get what i mean.
Yes!
It's underrated and deserves a higher average rating than 4.9.
By the way, I would like to point out to some people that this isn't a remake of the 1963 original, it is a reboot of the Pink Panther franchise.
Yes, I thought it was great :P I don't why there are so much bad reviews on it. I voted 7/10

Uh... hi o.o
YES (9/10)
Shaun of the Dead: best rom-zom-com ever
*beep* NO!!! The Blake Edwards Panther series is and will always be The Pink panther! This is just dumb!
shareNo.
One thing ruined it. It was when Steve Martin realizes his own shortcomings. The Clouseau character should never do that.
God, no...
share[pink]Yeah, it was pretty good[/pink]
Soccer=life
My other screen name was crookedknees, but it got blocked
oh yesssss....
share¡No!
shareNo... Turned it off after wasting half an hour of my life. This RARELY ever happens!
shareyes.
shareBLOODY AWFUL!!!!
THEY MIGHT AS WELL HAVE SPAT ON PETER SELLER'S GRAVE, IT WAS SUCH AN INSULT TO HIS MEMORY AND HIS WORK!
An Englishman's opinion

Blake Edwards already did that at least 3 times with 'Curse', 'Trail' and 'Son' of the Pink Panther!
Hence the reason he got sued by the Sellers family, as for this film its not a bad film, its watchable and Steve Martin dosnt do a bad job and isnt even trying to do what Sellers did (how could he?) and it works.
Not the best film but if you like this type of comedy its worth watching and does have its moments.
Saw this movie for the first time recently. I was initially disappointed, then I found myself giggling when recalling some of the scenes a couple of days later!
The deleted scene in the aircraft was quite funny I thought, would have been nice if Herbert Lom could have played Dreyfus, and Kevin Kline been Dreyfus Jnr.
but he probably wouldn't have wanted to do this with Sellers not being around anymore.
It does indeed has its moments, but it has poor plot ending and Steve Martin is not a good comedy actor. He's ok if he is not trying to be funny but this was the WORST remake ever, with "THE ITALIAN JOB" in second place,AND BOTH FILMS ARE HAVING SEQUELS!!!!!!!!!!!!
shareActually, this isn't a remake. It's a reboot of the series, like Batman Begins and Casino Royale.
sharei must agree with funisfun26 and question kiernanthompson about the difference between a remake and a reboot, apart from that "reboot" contains four letters that form the name of an object that steve martin needs across his head after making this insult to comedy

Well, isn't this loosely based on the original pink panther? What with the diamond and all? It seems to me that they took the original, modernized it, and took into consideration character traits from the other pink panther movies.

no.
Peter Sellers was so great. yes we all know Steve Martin is very talented and funny yay SNL blahbablahbablah but Peter Sellers was Clouseau (though he probably would not like being connected in such ways to his passed characters). I think that the Pink Panther was done so well the first times around, it didn't need another. They shouldn't have rebooted the series - it just feels wrong, especially towards Sellers.
Plus they took Cato out. you don't do that. that is a big, big no-no.
the movie shouldn't have been made, anyway.
I think Steve Martin can do much better - i was incredibly disappointed when i heard about this "reboot".
Plus they took Cato out. you don't do that. that is a big, big no-no.well i'm not even gonna ask what you think of 1968's Inspector Clouseau... i can understand that someone might not like that one, anyway, but... are we to believe, then, that you are also not a fan of the original 1963 Pink Panther film starring Peter Sellers, since it also had no Cato?
the movie shouldn't have been made, anyway.
Stop rolling your eyes at me.
My main point is that i dislike remakes/reboots, and I used reasons that would back that up.
I have not seen Casino Royale, nor do i plan to soon. Even so, Bond movies are a completely different conversation anyway - there have always been different actors playing the part. I, myself, enjoyed Sean Connery's charm and Daniel Craig just hasn't grown on me yet.
But, again, different story.
and, back on topic, I don't like Steve Martin as Clouseau, and I didn't like this movie.

wow, you are really misunderstanding my point.
okay: drop the Cato thing. I happen to like that character in the second and third Sellers Pink Panthers (also, in your first response: liking him in the 2nd and 3rd does not mean i didn't like the first). I am not basing my entire defense upon his replacement, i am simply saying that the character was a great part of the originals, so why didn't they put him in the reboot?
and, drop the idea that i was imagining some old Burt Kwouk to play it in the newer Pink Panther, because your assumption is wrong. If i really were expecting the original actor, i would have said the same for Dreyfus.
What I don't appreciate about the IMDB boards is that posters such as yourself feel it's more interesting to pick apart another's post, as opposed to actually discussing the thread. I was stating why I did not like the movie; that i was disappointed in it. the only thing you can do is roll your eyes at me and pretend that i'm way off the mark with my opinion.
Also, i have a sincere question: (i saw the movie a while ago so i don't remember) the jewel that Beyonce carries, is that the Pink Panther? I dont remember if it was the series' namesake or if it was a new one..
see, you make little sense... first you're just upset with the cast/characters - it's a "big no-no" that the film didn't include Cato, etc - but then you change things and say you just "don't like remakes/reboots" in general... and now... now you're not even saying what your complaint is with the film - you seem to wish there had been a Cato character, but now it's no big deal, and your real complaint is that there's one person in the world who seems to disagree with you...
and what's wrong with a good, healthy argument? somebody picking apart what you say teaches you to say what you really mean (theoretically) and either strengthen what you believe or learn to see things a bit more open-mindedly...
--------
but getting to your sincere question, i'm not sure which "jewel" you're referring to... are you talking about the diamond she took to the diamond-cutter in NYC? or about the one found inside her purse at the Presidential Palace? they're two separate stones...
