I dont see why everyone hates this movie

an american playing a frenchman,, that's the first reason, 2nd reason this re- doing of the pink panther basically desecrates the memory of peter sellers.

This film doesnt exist in my opinion either. I like Steve Martin but he has gotten into the really bad habit now of playing fictional legends like Bilko & Clouseau. These characters are not only legendary but they were played by comedy legends that made the roles their own. Phil Silvers was and always will be Bilko & Peter Sellers was and always will be Clouseau. This rehashed piece of garbage is for kids who have no idea what the history of the Pink Panther movies are all about.

i don't hate the movie,, i laughed my ass off. but what i don't like is remaking a classic for starters, number 2 using an american actor in a frenchman's role.

I agree with the OP. I think this movie is hilarious. It has some extremely funny slap stick scenes: The hotel scene where he looses his "magic pill for the middle aged man", the "He's obviously waring a flesh mask" scene, the "Damburger" scene in the airport, the hospital scene in the end. I haven't laughed this hard for many years. In my opinion a new take on an old classic does not diminish the original.

don't see why eveyrone hates it? well take your pick. was it the cheezy crappy acting, or the terrible accent impressions by both klein and Martin. i was literally wincing the whole movie. you'd think two well know "good" actors could at least do a french accent.. at least.. instead of klein went back and forth between an american, british and french accent.. what the hell was that??
