Has anyone seen similar films to this?

I simply loved this movie, and would LOVE to watch anything similar in style, content or atmosphere with this movie.

Any suggestions?

Remembered one other film that is at least somewhat similar: "Three Days of the Condor' with Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway.

The State Within -- a good Brit television mini-series and, to a lesser extent but a bit over-the-top, the Brit MI5 television series.

I might also suggest the British series The Sandbaggers. It's more "talky" than this movie but shows a realistic look at what intelligence work is.

I'm not sure on how similar it is, but I got the same feeling watching this as I did the recent remake of "The Quiet American", which is also about the CIA.

DeNiro watched The Third Man, along with the aforementioned Smiley's People and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, according to the Wikipedia article. I found it quite similar to Mishima.

I would not agree with films presented in this tread to be similiar to good Shepherd, well maybe Syriana. Only film that I find to be close enough to Good Shepherd is Nixon

"The Company" the best mini-series of all time ( after band of brothers ).

Hmm

Someone mentioned JFK. Some people dislike this one because it's "unrealistic"/inaccurate. That might be true but I still personally thought it was rather entertaining. I found it an intense "thriller" set in the 60's america.

Thirteen days. Not quite sure how "accurate" it is but it makes for intense drama of the timeperiod.

Note: I don't need 100 percent historical accuracy in movies about xyz time. It's a movie not a historical reenactment.

Otherwise I'd recommend the movie "The fog of war" which was a rather interesting "interview movie" with a rather prominent historical figure of the time.
