Why does Affleck look back on this in disgust?

The movie should gain some newfound respect by him after the abomination that was Batman Vs. Superman. :)

I mean, this Daredevil is fine. For all its shortcomings, it’s a relatively gritty and serious movie that never feels completely lifeless a la the aforementioned Snyder movie. On top of that, it managed to be entertaining, fittingly stylish (though things do get over the top), and it legit felt true to the character in many ways; by no means did it completely nail it, but it did FEEL like an honest attempt at a Daredevil adaptation. Not to mention Affleck looks like he put some real effort into the role, unlike his Batffleck. Hem, sorry… I know he won even some detractors over as Bats but so far I’ve found him largely forgettable in the role. Though his acting itself was solid in BVS, did he embody the role like Bale and Keaton did? To some he might’ve even been better, but to me he’s been unremarkable to watch compared to his predecessors.

Anywho, if Ben feels this movie was essentially a poor adaption that didn’t do the character justice and/or he simply sees it as a poor movie, well then clearly many would agree with him. Having said that, I dig it! Now thankfully we got the Netflix Daredevil series (a few nitpicks I have, but overall I couldn’t be more pleased with that immeasurably superior adaption), albeit I ultimately have a soft spot for this movie and Affleck’s performance. And honestly, I wouldn’t mind seeing Affleck reprise the role one last time in some way.

Because it didn't work out the way he hoped it would. If everyone loved it he would have been proud. He is just saying what he thinks he should say.

The film didn't do well and he is backpeddling. Oddly enough as someone who doesn't like super hero films, I quite like this one.

There are definitely some very cheesy, cringey moments in the movie, but tbh they're not a dealbreaker, imo.
