Brokeback Mountain, an actually well-made and remarkable film, is anything but inferior to Book of Shadows.

Moulin Rouge is pretty great, but it's certainly a 'love-it-or-hate-it' movie.

Say what you want about Scream 2 and Scream 3, but the first film was very good.

Beaches was not this bad.

My personal 'worst ever' movies are Saw II, Leprechaun, They, On the Line, Gothika, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Anger Management, Freddy Vs. Jason.

I'm sure there are others but only those come to mind.

What was so bad about Gothika?

1) The CGI approach.
2) Far-fetched plotholes like how Miranda successfully hides in the pool (which they don't search) from the security guards, how both she and Penelope Cruz are free in the end of the movie, etc.
3) Lines like "I'm not crazy, I'm possessed."
4) I get tired of serial killer/ghost storylines where the two are connected. Often, to me, they don't mesh well. This one also seemed very unoriginal.
5) Ripping off that famous shot from The Shining.
6) Slow pace. Rather uninteresting.
7) The editing was so flashy, especially during moments like the entire shower scene.

But some things I did like were Halle Berry's performance and some of the jump scenes. It had touches of decent style and mood here and there.

"1) The CGI approach."

What movie DOESN'T have a CGI approach nowadays? IT's a lamentable fact true, but seriously, name me a TRULY BRILLIANT modern horror film that doesn't use CGI? I'm not trying to start any arguments here. I'm genuinely interested.

"2) Far-fetched plotholes like how Miranda successfully hides in the pool (which they don't search) from the security guards, how both she and Penelope Cruz are free in the end of the movie, etc."

I admit this somewhat weirded me out as well, but it didn't ruin the movie for me.

"5) Ripping off that famous shot from The Shining."

I haven't seen it for a long while now. I liked it when I watched it, though. But I can't remember any rip offs from the Shining. Please clarify?

A worse film? That's pretty hard, because Blair Witch 2 was horrible.

The Village was worse... as it was just plain boring.

Child's Play (all of them) are worse because the idea of a stupid little doll being scary is a laugh riot.

Brokeback Mountain was worse because it was overrated and horribly boring.

Personally, I liked this movie. It's one of those cheesy, not quite campy, but almost, horror movies that I like to watch and laugh at.

Annnnyway.

I honestly can't believe that no one mentioned FearDotCom.

That was THE MOST Godawful movie I have ever seen. Honestly. I kind of wanted to shoot myself after I watched.

It was me! I was the turkey all along!

Rest Stop - Painfully bad and painfully annoying.
Headspace - couldn't even get past the first 10 minutes.
Jane White is Sick and Twisted - Boring and very very unfunny.

Because sponges never have bad days.

reply

"Tale of the Mummy" - Toilet paper flying around and killing people.

Troll 2 (the worst movie ever made, in the opinion of many people who've never heard of Ed Wood <G>)

Legion of the Dead

Scarecrows

Manos: The Hands of Fate

Blair Witch 1

Death Tunnel

Blood Dolls (for that matter, almost any Charles Band film..)

Possession (crappy fundamentalist Christian propaganda piece masquerading as a horror film - even worse than Troll 2)

Pulse

House of Wax (the new one, not the Vincent Price classic)

Bless The Child

May (sorry, Lucky McKee fans. I'll give it points for weirdness, but not much else)

Any movie based on a video game, especially if directed by Uwe Boll

Anything by Jim Wynorski

Anything by Ed Wood

BW2 is a far, far cry from a great movie, but there are so many worse that the list could go on and on and on........

reply

Anything Directed by Uwe Boll.

Rushmore

Life Aquatic.

Any independant movie with "indie" style of humor. Except Little Miss Sunshine.

Oh, Lost in Translation.

Boycott Remakes, and lets not forget the anti-christ Uwe Boll!

reply

And if I may add one more to the list (at the risk of committing cinematic heresy..<G>)

Gone With The Wind.

An interminable, boring soap opera. How anyone could consider it a classic is beyond me.
