Anybody else watch this in school a million times?

Is it just my school system that's super into this movie, or does anybody else out there have to watch Remember the Titans in, say, Social, Gym, Religion, English, you name it... This movie is apparently a teacher's dream and I had to watch it at LEAST once a year from about grades eight through eleven, at two different schools. (Not that that's a bad thing; I like Remember the Titans... y'know, the first 5 or 6 times...)

I watched in my school, and BTW i'm living in Mexico City.

(That proves that even teachers from different cultures love this movie).

The only time I watched it in school was during a "reward" time for students that didn't have any tardies and had all their assignments turned in for a trimester. Otherwise as far as watching movie in class I remember watching a ton of different ones: October Skies (atleast twice), The 60's, One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Forest Gump, The Crucible, Holocaust (a miniseries), Dead Poet's Society, The Discovery and probably someothers I can't think of. Looking at this lists makes me think teachers have us watch far too many movies in school.

I'm from Arlington, VA, so we watched it aaaaall the time.

I taped this movie off Family Channel for our church library!!!!

The high school here uses movies way too much. On the day before spring break, my daughter watched a movie in each block - or an hour's worth, anyway. We had to rent the movies later to finish them. She saw parts of Napoleon Dynamite, Happy Feet, Happy Gilmore, and Beowulf!

I was not happy about Beowulf because of the extreme violence. They were studying the Vikings in Grade 8 social studies, and the teacher thought it would tie in.

Later, when they were studying Medieval England, they watched A Knight's Tale (nude scene and all).

its ironic. i actually saw this movie for the first time in school. and its one of my favourites.

reply

Yeah, I watched it in 9th grade when it first came out on video in my History class and I watched it in 10th grade in my Computer class.

I think ive seen this film 3 times ihn school. Which is a record. Although i watched ozmoses jones 4 times in science classes. And mean girls probably 12 times at school...?

reply

Yeah. I can't understand why, neither - I mean, the movie sucks badly and there must be other movie with similar themes that teachers can show their students. This is just stupid.

reply

The movie was "bad"????
Wow, it looks like you have no good taste in movies like this.

Piss off.
