Ever have someone die in your high school?

I was a senior this past school year (2005-2006) and after christmas break we started school. On February 27th one of my closest friends (and crush) died in a car accident. I was torn in half. Everyone took it hard. People were screaming, fainting, and sobbing in the middle of the halls. They had his funeral at our school in the auditorium I went and just stared cuz i cried all i could the days leading up. We were close. We talked a lot. Teased each other and everything. I'm gay by the way and we were finally talkin it on that level. But we were to shy to admit we liked each other and i knew he liked me (girls and some guys know what i'm talking about). But i was so sadden and the worst thing is i never got to tell him how i felt neither did he. But i will aways remember him. Just goes to show you that just cuz someone is here today don't mean they're guaranteed tomorrow. I say to you all tell each person how u feel and how much they mean to you. Cuz they might not be there to hear you tomorrow. You don't want to be in my shoes asking "What If?"

To the one I lost, I'll never forget you boy, keep smilin and prank callin me, lol

I did. It happened about a year ago, in December. it was someone I didn't know, but it affected me anyway. His name was Nicholas Burns. He died in a car accident. His sister had just gotten her license, and it was winter so the roads were slippery. She lost control of the car, and he died. I don't know all the details. an open-casket funeral was held in the school. it was the first time I ever saw a dead body. he really did look like he was just sleeping, hugging a bouquet to his chest. I didn't know him, but during the funeral, I wished I did. from what they said about him, he was a really sweet person, which is a rarity in my school. Heck, in my town. all the teachers said he never gave them any trouble, he was just a polite kid, just 15 years old. he was a young farmer too, and he was known for tending to sick baby cows. he loved cows. and his locker was very close to mine, I realized. we joined hands and watched as they carried his casket into the black limo, with his parents following, and his mother was bawling. Howling, even. I'd never seen anybody cry like that, and it was scary. his dad just held her and tried to stay composed. I felt horrible for them, but I felt more horrible for his sister. I know she's going to blame herself for the rest of her life. when I get my license I don't know if I'll dare drive my brother anyplace.

At my highschool, three kids were killed. All of them were car accidents. I don't know if you'd call them "accidents". One was supposedly an accident which involved two boys. And three years later, one of my bestfriends was killed by a drunk driver. Oh, and all of them were not in another car... they were crossing the road at a stoplight. :(

Joey Fischer went to my high school. There was a famous murder case about him.

I graduated HS about 2 and a half years ago but a friend of mine (we weren't close and had lost touch after HS but occasionally sent messages to each other since May 2004) died recently. Her name is Joe-De Bailey. She was on the list for a heart/double lung transplant since August 23rd. I miss JB. She and I were friends in fifth grade then in senior year, became friends again (we weren't enemies between that time. Just kinda met other people).

I was in a small class in a small school. I don't remember anyone I knew ever dying in high school, but I remember one of my friends was in a car accident and barely had any injuries, but somehow the headmaster made a stupid mistake and told us it was a fatal accident.

Im from the Uk and although no one died in Secondary School a couple of my friends have died since, Nick died instantly in a car crash when he was 18 and another one of my m8's died whilst drink driving and killed another man in the process, he would have been 21 or 22, I hadnt seen him in 2 or 3 years, That happened about 4 months ago, still cant believe he was drink driving, never expected him to do something like that but people can change a lot in 2 years I guess

When I was in 8th grade a junior at the high school tried to kill himself. Thankfully he did not succeed.

a couple years ago, when i was a freshman, a once friend of mine jenn, died in a car accident. she was two years older than me. Even though i hadn't talked to her in 3 years at the time, i once was very close to her in middle school she was a great person and it was very hard.

and last year, a sophmore girl in my school died of heart failure or something along those lines. its very sad, because since she was sick, she looked "different" than others, and all her life was teased because of it :-(

In primary school (i dont know what people call it in USA) but lets say about grade 5.. one of my little sisters (she was in grade 2 at the time) best friends at the time got hit by a truck right outside the school. we drove home just after it happened and hoped it wasnt anyone we knew. luckily we had already picked up my little sister so we knew it wasnt her. but then later we got home and found out who it was. she was absolutely crushed. i still wonder what itd be like for that boys family.

Also in grade 12, some girl died of Cancer. i had spoken to her a few times. its weird hearing about someone u had spoken to has died

I went to Stillwater High School in Minnesota and we had a few people who passed away

Heidi Kub - She was drunk, and drove off the road and hit a phone pole, she had passed out behind the wheel, and woke up, there was a live wire on the ground and the police were waiting for the power company to come and kill all the power, well it took them too long and she bled to death.

Jeremy Johnson - Crashed his snowmobile while he went out alone for a ride, his dad went driving after him when he didn't come home, and found his son laying there dead. Horrible.

A guy at my high school died while competing at a Latin competition that was held out-of-state. He disappeared from the hotel one night and ended up getting hit by a car. I always felt SOOO bad for my Latin teacher, because she was called to identify the body. Apparently he was still wearing his ID badge from the competition. It was horrible...she cried in class at random moments for the following few weeks. I'm not a parent, but I have to imagine that the hardest thing in the world is outliving your children. It's so sad that it happens all the time.

There was at least one person who died in each year that I was in High School (only counting people in my grade). First week as a freshman, some girl has a seizure in gym (I was at lunch), they take her to the office while they wait for her parents, or paramedics, and she dies in the office.
tenth grade, someone in my class died in a car accident.
11th, someone died when his farm equipment flipped and crushed him, then mangled him.
Also in 11th grade, a bunch of friends went home from a party one night. The driver had been drinking, and they wrecked. The passenger was partially ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. The vehicle continued to roll, before finally resting on the passenger. This was really sad, I knew this guy.
12th grade, a girl I had known briefly throughout my stay at high school died from leukemia.

We had a girl who hung herself in the girls toilets at school, and another student found her. They have a memorial at the school for her.
