Ever have someone die in your high school?

I was a senior this past school year (2005-2006) and after christmas break we started school. On February 27th one of my closest friends (and crush) died in a car accident. I was torn in half. Everyone took it hard. People were screaming, fainting, and sobbing in the middle of the halls. They had his funeral at our school in the auditorium I went and just stared cuz i cried all i could the days leading up. We were close. We talked a lot. Teased each other and everything. I'm gay by the way and we were finally talkin it on that level. But we were to shy to admit we liked each other and i knew he liked me (girls and some guys know what i'm talking about). But i was so sadden and the worst thing is i never got to tell him how i felt neither did he. But i will aways remember him. Just goes to show you that just cuz someone is here today don't mean they're guaranteed tomorrow. I say to you all tell each person how u feel and how much they mean to you. Cuz they might not be there to hear you tomorrow. You don't want to be in my shoes asking "What If?"

To the one I lost, I'll never forget you boy, keep smilin and prank callin me, lol

Sure, one choked on his vomit while sleeping after getting drunk/high at a party. Another got hit by a car right after school a couple of blocks away. One "accidently" shot himself with his rifle (but many suspected that it was suicide).

Shortly after graduating, a friend who was a wannabe drug dealer got shot in the face because he owed major bucks to someone higher up on the chain.

A couple of guys -- also shortly after graduating -- ripped off a local sport shop and were chased by the police for ten miles before going off the road at about 100 mph and hitting a pole or something. They were both cut in half (!). I went to the calling hours. They were closed casket, of course.

My sister slit her wrist in the girl's restroom. There was blood all over the wall (I had an emergency pass to get in to see her); she thankfully survived.

This is just off the top of my head.

My first reaction was -- of course.
I had a schoolmate in a particular class, a really nice, mellow guy. At some point he had been dating a tall, very attractive woman and we all were in the same class. I didn't know them well, but sometimes we'd acknowledge each other, and it turned out a good friend of mine's family was very close to his.
One day we come to school either knowing or learning he had been killed in a car accident. Probably drunk, we all partied back then even if we were Saints in our behavior toward our fellow travelers.
The buddy that was with him got off with a broken arm. I vividly remember the girl who had been his Girlfriend.
The class had to acknowledge his passing, and she just sobbed. It was sort of unbelievable, I didn't know how to process it.
Here one day - gone the next. smh
