Does anyone else have this problem?
I think this movie is funny, witty & very creative (though woul love to read the comics for comparison) but everyone I know who has seen it has been well... terribly strident in there dislike

No, I like this movie. It is very funny and creative, like you said. It is not an Oscar worthy movie, but that doesn't mean that it is bad. It is very enjoyable. Not everyone has to like the same thing, but if you ask me, people who hate this movie just don't have a sense of humor.

shareI just bought this second-hand having watched it about 10 years ago. I unexpectedly enjoyed it a lot, I'd remembered it being a kind of silly send-up of superhero films but I'd forgotten how imaginative and visually creative it is, they really do create their own little world, plus Tom Waits is great. The whole cast is great really, I was really rooting for them by the end. Great fun.

I love this film. It makes me smile and entertains me. Just picked it up for £2 in Asda which has to be my bargain of the year!

Saw it when it was first released. Found a used copy today and am currently watching it with my boys, ages 14 and 11.
Not sure if they are enjoying it as much as I am.
I saw a trailer for this movie two days ago (on a pay-TV channel that shows old movies... in Australia), and I was intrigued by Geoffrey Rush and Hank Azaria, and I decided to check it out (due to curiosity).
I saw the film last night, and it was just amazing! Everything was great: the sets; the costumes; and most of all the cast! The humor was incredibly subtle, but it was still hilarious.
I am now looking for the DVD so I can watch it again!

I know quite a few people who like this movie. For me, it is one of my favorites because the storyline and superhero ideas are so original. I always wished they had made a sequel.
