How can people like this movie

Seriously what is soo special about this film. It's a watered down version of star wars..

But seriously nominated for an oscar??? Why wasn't battleearth nominated for one?
It was soo much better?

Please tell me what makes this film great? I thought Dogma was better .

This is without exception the very worst film it has ever been my misfortune to watch. This drivel gives even camp a bad name. It contains a cast that will obviously do anything for a buck and a writer who appears to have only recently finished kindergarten where he was no doubt considered to be a great wit. It is to science fiction what fart jokes and the three stooges are to sophisticated humor.

Only two things are actually knowable:
It is now and you are here. All else is merely a belief.

Well, I happen to think completely the contrary. This is one of the most entertaining films I have ever had the fortune to see..the cast is fantastically funny and serious at the same time... The production design, costumes and music are breathtaking and not a second old in comparison with films today...

What a ridiculous dog! Excuse me, my dog is not ridiculous. Oh...Whose dog is this then?

Even though you are on the same side of this issue as I am, one must point out the incredible irony to be found in your grammar.

Damn, I watched this tonight after almost a decade or so..... I'm absolutely in love with this film even after all these years.

I love the soundtrack and it's a fun movie made by a weird director so I can see why it rubs some people the wrong way. If anything bothered me about this movie was Chris Tucker being such a pansy and annoying but it's not enough to make me hate the movie. Seeing Milla naked was pretty cool too

I didn't like it. I LOVED it. And I don't see any comparison in the stories of Star Wars and Fifth Element.

It's one of the last genuinely great original sci-fi films.
