I cried when she said that about his glasses and a little bit when she read her weeping willow poem. The only other films I can remember crying at were Schindler's List, when he says, "I could have got more" and Steel Magnolias when she says, "I've always been ready to go first."
Oh boy, this movie... I can't even watch it from the time Thomas J gets stung until the end. It's just too heart-wrenching. Anna Chlumsky was brilliant; the scene during the funeral when she slowly walks out of her room, sits on the top step, makes her way down the stairs and grasps the banister, and then starts talking to Thomas J was some of the best child acting anyone has ever accomplished.
Count each day as a gift; you never know when the wrapping paper's going to run out.
When I got pregnant I stopped taking anti-depressants and my son is 2&1/2 now and I never took them again. And while I feel a lot better now, I'm a mess when it comes to sad (and happy) parts in movies, tv shows and even commercials sometimes (I know, I'm a cliche crying at a long-distance phone commercials).
With this movie, I always cry at the "glasses" part and bawl at the poem. Other movies I can remember crying at (really there are way too many to name, but here's a few): -The Notebook (when grown Allie forgets again, and Noah cries) -The Fox and the Hound (when the Fox's owner has to give him away - I remember a teacher showed my class this in school and I had to hide my face I was crying so hard). -The Lion King (when Mufasa dies) -Look Who's Talking Too (when Mikey feels bad for being mean to his baby sister and at the end when they walk away to "I Got You, Babe" - hey, I'm a mom!) -Transformers 2 (when Optimus Prime "dies", but not when Sam "dies", lol - I was preggo at the time though) -Toy Story 3 (every time when they almost burn up and the end when Andy plays with them one last time). -Monsters Inc. (the end "Kitty") -All of the Harry Potters (out of excitement and sadness - especially Dumbledore and Sirius' deaths and the end of the last one) -Plus anything to do with animals, children, etc. happy and sad -Way too many more to remember and list ~LogansMommy
"Godzilla vs Destroyah"- Godzilla melts down at the end. I loved the big G since I was a kid, and this killed me. It was bad enough when Destroyah killed Godzilla Jr earlier in the movie, but me and my brother just lost it when Goji melted down.
"I Am Legend"- When the dog dies.
"Terminator 2"- When the T-800 puts himself in the molten steel at the end.
"Best of the Best"- The American team "loses" at the end. But they and the Korean (?) team let all the animosity just slip away and they all have a bunch of good high fives and hugs. It actually really caught me off guard considering how average (though enjoyable) the rest of the movie was.
The end of 'The Shawshank Redemption", only because it's so damn uplifting. And "It's A Wonderful Life" for the same reason.

Oh I am total cry baby, I dread sad movies the way people dread horrors.
The part that gets me is when Veda walks through the funeral parlour and cries about Thomas J's glasses and you just see the parents reaction to what she is saying. That part makes me howl.
Heres a few others that kill me
The Green Mile - Literally the last 15 minutes but in particular when he is watching the movie and looks so happy. Such an extraordinary film.
Steel Magnolis - Just after Shelby dies and M'Lynne is driving back to pick up Jack Junior, and he just happily toddles down the path to her completley oblivious to what has happened. Also, the incredible scene in the churchyard.
Titanic - The whole montage during "nearer to thee" with the old couple on the bed and the Irish lady reading a goodnight story to her kids.
The Notebook - Every single time, particularly when Ally remembers for 1 minute then forgets and the look on Noahs face his heart breaking.
Goodbye Mr Chips - The original with Robert Donat broke my heart, espcially the ending.
Beaches - the ending with the snap shot
Les Miserables - The ending
The pursuit of happiness - When he gets offered the job at the end.
I am Legend - When Sam dies and when he begs the shop dummy to talk to him.
"What, you don't like rice? Tell me Michael, how could a billion Chinese people be wrong?"
Oh man, I *beep* cried like a little bitch during the kid's funeral scene when I first saw this movie on HBO in the early 90's... and was depressed for about a week afterwards. And I'm a big friggin' emotionless lug manly-man who votes Republican and sends a few hundred rounds of ammo down the range every week.
Haven't seen the movie since then.
Any scene that depicts a dead kid, or *beep* addicted parents hurting their kids (physically or emotionally) will get me going - brings back repressed memories from my childhood.
This was on the TGN channel tonight so we watched it. The other time I saw it I missed the scene where Shelley's ex husband tries to take the motor home from her. That scene was really funny.
But yes, the poem reading scene got me crying both times.
Other movies that made me cry (just off the top of my head}: ET, Mask, The Color Purple, Powder, Steel Magnolias, Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, and the one that got me crying the most was My Sister's Keeper. That one makes me cry rivers.
Some movies try too hard to be tearjerkers, like Stepmom and Terms of Endearment and neither one got a drop out of me.
