I mean really, that was a little unrealistic. She looked like she was like 7 years old and had like hardly any breasts and was like not even 4'10 i bet and probably didn't weigh 90 pounds and somehow got her period? Please. I was 5'5 105 pounds and almost 14 years old before I got my first period, and she's not even 12 and looks like she's like 5 and gets hers.

I got mine when I was 11. Every girl develops differently. Goodness did you not learn Sex Ed. in school or what? Girls can get their periods from about 8 years old onward.

shareIt has nothing to do with the way you look, mostly when you get your first period is based on your DNA and genetics. I know about 5 or 6 girls who got their first period at age 10 before we saw the puberty video in school and they had no idea what was happening to them. I got mine at 13 & 1/2 and it seems like most of my friends got their first periods around the age of 12 or 13, but I know at least one of my friends didn't get her first period until she was 15 and another just hit puberty a little over a year ago (she's 16 now). There is no right or wrong age to get your first period, it can happen as young as 8 or as old as 18.
shareI knew plenty of 11 year olds who barely had breast. I was almost 12 when I first got mine and I had breasts. Girls can get their periods young as nine I heard. Few even get theirs young as eight.

shareI was 12 when I got my first period, but people all thought I was 7. I was way under 5ft. I'm 24 now (and getting mistaken for 16/17), and I'm only 5'1, so obviously I would have been way shorter at 12. My mum was taller than me when I was 12, and she's only 4'11...so I was probably 4'9 at the time, and I was teased for having 2 backs.
