I mean really, that was a little unrealistic. She looked like she was like 7 years old and had like hardly any breasts and was like not even 4'10 i bet and probably didn't weigh 90 pounds and somehow got her period? Please. I was 5'5 105 pounds and almost 14 years old before I got my first period, and she's not even 12 and looks like she's like 5 and gets hers.

Anna Chlumsky was 11 when she made this film. I remember the sixth grade when all the girls suddenly got "tall" and started walking with the notebooks across their chests to hide their new "boobs". Yes, 11 year olds (or even younger) do apparently get their period. Hell I had pubes at 12.

shareFirst of all, whoever posted this is obviously uneducated. I got my period a year ago, when I was 13. I know a girl who got her period in 3rd grade when she was 9. Secondly, not everyone grows/looks the same. When I was 13 I could pass for an 11-year-old, maybe even 10. Everyone develops at different times and everyone gets their periods at different times. It's just common sense, I bet a guy knows more about this then the OP. Besides, the way you look has nothing to do with getting your period.

I was 10 when I got my first period.. and everybody who looked at me thought I was 8 !! So what ?? And some kids are early and others are late..
But still I love this movie <3 Still makes me cry after all those years..
She doesn't like 7 (..and 5? Make up your mind). Besides, I was 11 when I got my period, and kids as young as 9 (I think) can get them.
So it's realistic.

Due to all the growth hormones and such used in the American food industry, it's become pretty common for 7 year olds who look 11 1/2 to get their periods.

look i was about the same size as vada when i was 11. i weighed much less than 90 pounds at that time because i've always been skinny. i got my period when i was 11. just because we're all not like you were doesn't mean you can't get your period that young. everyone is different.

She's eleven, she looks her age. Just because more 11 year olds now try to look like they're older (which in most cases most young girls now looks like little whores" No offence, but its nice seeing a movie where a young girl looks her age.
