NO F**KING WAY!! KEATON TO RETURN AS BATMAN!!

HOLY SHIT THIS IS UNFUCKINGBELIVABLE!!

the Crises on Infinite Earth tv event (that featured the likes of Routh as returning as Superman, Miller cameoing as DCU Flash, and even Robert Wuhl as Knox) obviously helped this happen

You should also post this on Michael Keaton's page:

i could do that but i figured it more to do with Batman 1989 a page i frequent every now and then. ive never been on Keatons page..

This seems pretty crazy. Keaton was an excellent Batman and an inspired bit of casting but he's almost 70 years old. And if he's just now "in talks" then he would probably be 70 when filming actually began.

But hey, he did a great job as Vulture, so I'd be down to see it. It IS an interesting idea. But if they're going to do this, they need to get on with it because he's not getting any younger.

reply

That would be awesome. But they need to replace the horribly miscast Miller as the Flash.

reply

Inspired job of portraying Vulture. Confused and baffled as Batman/Bruce. Obviously Burton's fault.
I'm OK with his return as long as they promise that Burton has nothing to do with it.

reply

You didn't think Keaton was good as Batman in the Burton films?

reply

I do not. Jack was the only half decent thing in the first one.

I've always thought that Keaton was excellent as Batman, and I absolutely loved Batman 1989 growing up. It was my favorite movie for a while. It feels a bit aged now, but I still think it's a good film.

Also, I think that BvS is a better film that it gets credit for. If you haven't done so, consider checking out the Ultimate Edition. It restores 30 minutes of footage and makes the story significantly more coherent.

I BOUGHT THE ULTIMATE EDITION BLU RAY WHEN IT CAME OUT...SO I SAW THE MOVIE IN THAT FORMAT THE FIRST TIME AND EVERY TIME SINCE...ITS A DECENT FILM...

I wonder who else might pop up in Flash/DC Multiverse?

Maybe CG Christopher Reeve Superman? Nicolas Cage Supermen? Bale Batman? Lynda Carter WW? Reynolds Lantern? Reeves Constantine? Slater Supergirl? (maybe that's why Slater and Carter didn't appear in the TV Flash Crises ..they were holding out for being in the big screen version, and I bet Routh doesn't appear as he already did in the TV version and they probably want a bigger name for a previous Superman anyway like CG Reeve or Cage) and obviously as a way to bring in the likes of Momoa, Gadot, Cavill even Affleck again after the JL fiasco..(in fact there may even be reference to Snyders JL being in canon with everything just a slightly different version of events due to the multiverse) and of course it explains how/why theres so many different versions and the likes of Joaquin Joker, Pattinson Batman

MCU will no doubt be going this way too in Dr Strange 2 etc - (Maguire, Bana, Jackman etc) they've already done it in Spiderverse anyway.. but DC/WB has a bigger back catalogue of previous iconic versions like Reeve Superman, West/Keaton/Bale Batman,

Why The Flash Goes To The Michael Keaton Batman Timeline

https://screenrant.com/flash-movie-barry-allen-michael-keaton-batman-universe-reason/

After The Flash's newest teaser, it is more than confirmed that DCEU's Barry Allen will be visiting Michael Keaton's original Batman universe.

reply

How confirmed is this!? That's AWESOME!

For years I've been thinking, "They could make it happen!"

What I *really* want is The Dark Knight Returns starring Keaton as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker...

reply

the usual 'in talks' ..but.. 99 times out of 100 when 'in talks' gets reported by the major players (not wegotthiscovered.com etc) it ends up happening

reply

VERY exciting. If any studio people in Hollywood have a finger on the pulse of these message boards, hear this: I will pay my hard-earned cash to go see Keaton play Batman.

reply

It's a mistake. They should had gone with Jeffrey Dean Morgan. At least that'd been consistent with BVS.

reply

True. Didn't even think of that before I read this.

reply

People wanted Keaton to comeback for years. That's not a mistake at all.
