Does OJ Simpson kind of ruin your enjoyment of the movie now

I mean the movies are funny don't get me wrong, but OJ kind of ruins it for me now. I just feel strange watching it.

reply

why would it bother you? he was found not guilty.

reply

Yep, and Al Capone and John Gotti were acquitted multiple times, as was Casey Anthony.

And Lance Armstrong never failed a drug test.

Any other irrelevant arguments?

reply

no it adds novelty for me

reply

Nope. Doesn't effect me. The O.J. Simpson before is still funny.

reply

Seeing OJ in these movies definite does something in the wake of what he did, but "ruin"? Nah I wouldn't go that far.

reply

I have to agree. It was before anything happened. I can still enjoy it. For some reason, I cannot watch Cosby in anything and not have it affect my enjoyment. I guess that's because he was a rotten person during all those years.

reply

You should have a listen to the DVD commentary. When OJ is skulking round in the harbor in the beginning with his dark clothes and knitted cap, they joke about the case and one of them (I forget who) says: "So is this actual footage of OJ or the movie"?

Working in the movie business since -92

reply

Yeah, that looks like the cap he wore the night he killed two people, isn't it? Funny thing: A month after this film was released (or about) was the New Year's Day altercation with Nicole. Too bad that didn't get as much publicity, because maybe then Simpson might not have still be considered a hero then.

reply

Doesn't ruin it for me at all.

reply

It doesn't ruin it for me.

Listen to the commentary track by David Zucker and Robert K. Weiss (the producer of the movie) and the host. They talk about OJ (the commentary was recorded after the murders), and what they say is hysterical.

reply

Doesn't bother me any more than knowing Mark Holton was the one that was behind Pee-Wee's bike theft. Holton was funny in this movie just like OJ.

"Hey, it's Enrico Pallazzo!"
