Does OJ Simpson kind of ruin your enjoyment of the movie now

I mean the movies are funny don't get me wrong, but OJ kind of ruins it for me now. I just feel strange watching it.

It is more painful to watch the ridiculous bafoonery he was involved in with that movie way before the murders...Nordberg??? What an ridiculous character for him. Pure bafoonery.

reply

It doesn't ruin the movie for me, but I find it very sad that O.J. did what he did. If his wife was never killed and none of that ever happened we could have had a Naked Gun 4 someday. That's never going to happen now, especially with Leslie Nielsen gone.

reply

Seeing OJ get ran over and everything else is like inverse-karma.

It's the only way to perceive his scenes, without feeling that sensation of "ruined experience".

Can't watch any scene with that murderer in it.

reply

He doesn't ruin it for me at all.
It's just an actor playing a character.

Also OJ was actually found not guilty of the murders, so he shouldn't be treated as one.

Someone also mentioned Roman Planski.... He didn't rape a 15 year old, he had concensual sex with a 15 year old, she has spoken about it recently and said that not only was in concensual at the time but she has no regrets about it to this day and wouldn't want charges bought against him.

reply

That is still statutory rape under the law!

Absolutely, TheFootballer - it was a premeditated attack on a 13-year-old! Hard to believe that some people can rationalise it!

reply

The girl was 13-years-old and it still rape

reply

No, but I remember seeing Naked Gun 33 in the theatre just about the time he was first arrested for the murders. THAT was weird to see, especially in the opening scene when he's just about to spike the baby like it's a football.

No, not at all. He's a minor character and most everything about/in the movie is silly so I try not to overthink stuff when watching it.

reply

it feels weird but it doesn't ruin it
