I guess you can say this show was ahead of its time. However, the "Airplane" movies had the same people behind them and they were very successful. I guess movies and TV are two completely different things. I can't remember any shows that are similar. The Howard Stern show "Son Of The Beach" a couple of years ago had some of the same humor.

shareThe first title that comes to mind is Charlie Brooker's hilarious procedural cop TV drama spoof A Touch of Cloth (2012). Like the best Zucker/Abrahams stuff, the gags, both verbal and visual, come flying fast, Multiple viewings are needed to catch them all, and it holds up well to repeat watches.
