In the re-make cast Keira Knightley as Elise!
I think she would be perfect in the role. Anyone agree? Disagree? Which actress would you like to see in the role for a re-make?

I don't always say what Jesus would say.
I am assuming that was a joke, if not, ew.
I agree Keira Knightley would be perfect in the role. I would hate to see this movie remade though, it is great already. Plus no one could play the role of Richard other than Christopher Reeve.

Agree with Keira Knightley, with, maybe, Henry Cavill as Richard? What do you guys think?

Jason Isaacs would be perfect as W.F. Robinson!

While I don't think a remake is warranted, I believe that Sophie Marceau has more of the look that we are looking for, for Elise.
Otherwise, I would even say that the actors/actresses should be those that have not done major pictures.

Cavill certainly has the look. Good call.
shareAs of this writing, Somewhere In Time is in pre-production to become a Broadway musical:

Heaven knows what now-unknown Broadway actor and actress will try to fill two of the biggest shoes from Hollywood!
no, no Keira. She's had enough of the leading lady roles. She's just not right for this part. Like other people have said, if a remake has to be made at all, cast someone who can play the character.

If they're going to do a remake then they should do it right.
Only Camilla Belle would be perfect as Elise. She has such a delicate beauty like Jane Seymour and she certainly has the talent. She's exquisite enough, charming enough, intriguing enough and beautiful enough to be convincing as Elise. And Leo Decaprio would be Perfect as Richard Collier.

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
NO one, do NOT REMAKE THIS MOVIE, leave well enough alone.
Now Playing: Lost, Season 1, 2, 3, 4 and now 5, AGAIN!!
K K would have the right face, the face for the museum photo is the single thing that if it doesn't inspire extreme measures all the acting in the world won't fix it. I would like to see Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves do it if it was done. Unless they are too old
shareExcellent point about the photo. Don't know about Theron after "Monster". Other than the last name I think Keanu is too wooden in his acting. I can't see him believably pursuing time travel ala SIT.
shareBump for luvadane.
shareLeo Di Caprio and Marion Cotillard
That would be perfect
I can't see the Leo in SIT. However MC is a fantastic suggestion!
shareBlake Lively (Green Lantern) looks almost eerily like Jane Seymour in SIT.
Brandon Routh was actually not bad in "Superman Returns," although the very weak script gave him hardly anything to say as either Clark Kent or Superman. He was good in conveying emotions.
The script of "Returns" had Clark acting very subdued -- pretty similar to how Reeve played Richard in the original SIT.
I mean, if you're going to remake it, REMAKE IT.
Knightley would be no good as Elise. The style for leading-lady actresses in the early decades of the century was definitely much rounder and curvier than today. Knightley would look way too drawn and thin in a 1912-era production.
Blake Lively is not exactly "thick," but she is a little curvier than the thin-as-a-stick Knightley. In fact, Lively's body type is pretty similar to Seymour at the same age.

4) You ever seen Superman $#$# his pants? Case closed.

But then again Seymour is flat chested as well... she had implants done.
