Who's your Stalker for the Holywood remake?

I couldn't get Paul Bettany out of my head the whole time I was watching the movie.

John Malkovich and/or Kevin Spacey.

However, the remake should never happen.

reply

Kevin Spacey with his ever-present smartass smirk? That's way off, I think, for desperate spirituality is one of the things I 'cannot' see him projecting (he tried something along those lines in that K Pax movie yet what we got was sort of a condescending smugness).

Watch The Life of David Gale and Shipping News, then come back.

Seen David Gale and Spacey does nothing there to convince he could be an adequate Stalker - especially as it's a rather weak performance to begin with. This role needs more a right type than a great actor, and nothing about Spacey's type, or persona, suggests a tragic Christ figure.

Doing Hollywood remake or any remake whatsover would be utter blasphemy. Movie is done, has it good and bad sides, but what remake could do except probable CGI and action?

reply

Hollywood wouldn't touch this movie with a ten foot pole, but...

Stalker: Javier Bardem, or maybe Crispin Glover
Writer: Joaquin Phoenix, Adrian Brody, Daniel Craig or Sean Penn
Professor: F. Murray Abraham, John Hurt or Liam Neeson

If you want to screw it up beyond recognition, I'd go with...

Stalker: Nicholas Cage, Stephen Baldwin, or Michael Cera
Writer: Keanu Reeves, David Caruso, or Tom Cruise
Professor: Cedric The Entertainer, Danny DeVito, or Don Johnson

reply

Cillian Murphy as the Stalker.
Alan Arkin as the Professor.
Adrien Brody as the Writer.

reply

Please, PLEASE, don't make a remake of this.

This film is perfect.

reply

Stalker - Jason Statham
Writer - Ethan Hawke
Professor - Alan Rickman

I don't know if there's one being done, or if anyone else said it, but I don't really think this movie needs a hollywood remake. It could use instead a follow-up film set in the same universe, and that sources some elements and traps they weren't able to depict and that appeared in the novel

reply

Oh NO.......NO REMAKES PLEASE
