No animal should ever be killed for a film

It doesn't matter if it is for shock value or whatever. It is cruel, unnecessary and just sick. Now i know there are a lot of immature people who will respond with 'how cool' it is to see them die, etc. But honestly, it is not. This is just absolutley pathetic and should have never happened and should never happen again.

reply

wahh waahhh Who gives a *beep* It's just a turtle. Its not like its endangered or something.
you're not important,
being unique is a concept

reply

humans are also not endangered. in fact they are the most spreading species in the world. Plus that, we are behaving like a virus, destroying nature and earth itself.

So by any means it's ok, and by your logic even great if people are killed?
hmmm, maybe you're right... Still don't agree with animals though. I agree however that people who eat cows, pigs, horses and so on, should not defend some turtles killed on film. that's just hypocrite.

reply

There is a huge difference between killing animals for food and killing them for entertainment. Deodato's such a monster! I heard that half the crew didn't want him to kill the animals but he did it anyway. Cause he could. *shudder* >=(

You're all over moralised idiots.

Would you QQ if a fly was swatted on screen? Or, no that's ok is it? What about an ant? Would if be ok if it had been killed and not filmed? Is it the filming process you dislike? What is your point again? Where do you draw the line? Oh yes if it's kind of cute and has a face that slightly resembles a human it's not ok because you're a bunch of softies.

Would it have been fine if they ate the turtle afterwards? Again, over moralised idiots.

reply

You are one hell of a sick bastard to even consider watching anything like that.

I am NOT going to watch this 'Cannibal Holocaust' purely because of the idea of ripping up animals FOR THE AMUSEMENT OF AN AUDIENCE is one of the most inhumane and disgusting ideas ever thought of. I know this sort of stuff 'happens', but I try not to include my self in such vile acts of cruelty.

So enjoy your animal torture porn, but even thinking of typing into Google "Pig being killed by chainsaw" makes me feel ill, so no thanks to any of your ethics.

It's soooo disturbing how many people don't seem to care at all that animals died when they didn't need to- for YOUR entertainment purpose. What kind of world do we live in?

reply

Agree 100% i like horror but torture and killing of 7 animals, come on! Im happy that that sick snuff film is still banned in my country. just reading about it makes make sick inside out. killing 7 animals with the camera rolling! know wonder why it is the most banned film in the world.

reply

Im not vegetarian but I agree. What happened to CGI? The real slaughter of animals wasn't necessary. Animals being killed this brutally for entertainment is plain wrong.

reply

lets keep in mind cgi wasnt very advanced then.
although it was quite disturbing watching the turtle wriggle. they should have at least chopped off an already dead turtle

..dont try to get tough with a keyboard

reply

they ate the animals that were killed in the movie, so it's ok. go cry some more, fagget.

reply

Really is not a big deal. A couple animals died. In the big scheme of things it was a few animals 30 years ago and it doesn't really matter. You guys making such a big deal about means the animal killing did it's job to the T, and just encourages movies to include animal killing now.

reply

what about the animals killed to stuff the OP'S face when he eats meat.

i thinkyour being a bit narrow minded if im honest.
dont get me wrong i completely agree animals shouldnt be killed for films. HOWEVER, lets look at this from a different perspective.
they did eat the turtle after they had killed it, whether or not they actually did i dont know, but assuming they did, then what is the difference between that and us killing animals for food on a daily basis. even if we dont kill them ourslves.
also, you have to admit, if you look at the killing of the turtle, its realistic. yes its disgustig, yes i nearly vomited, but thats what they were going for, and that is the reason there is a) so much controversy about this film and b) so much curiosity about the film.
Obviously other scenes other than the killing of animals create these things. But its quite well known to people who like these kind of films that there is real animal killing, and certainly for me that made me hesitant but curious, hence i watched it.
In the end they probably dont care, cos if youve watched it, their making money from you even if you disagree with it.

reply

The movie, was really a wake up call to how cruel human beings could be, therefore a lot of sick and morally-repulsive stuff happened. It's not excuse for killing animals, but like everybodie said, they ate it.

reply

They didn't eat all the animals they killed.

reply

I agree with you 100% NO ANIMAL should be killed during a film ( in real life that is )
To my knowledge this was the last film to have real animals killed by actors. It was disgusting but for prop animals on screen to get offed it is what it is.
"Satan's little Helper" has a piece of movie magic with a cat. PEOPLE WATCH IT WITH THE AUDIO COMMENTARY.....TOO FUNNY!

reply

better check out disney's movie snow puppies.
dead turtle for a horror movie (rather smart one btw) - ok
dead puppies for a disney-produced family film? - now that's hardcore!

People who harp on slavery and talk about it a lot are what is wrong with people nowadays. Yes, there was slavery, but wouldn't it be better to move on? You do realize that what causes fighting is people's inability to move on and try to accept the past. There are people that are still racist today because there used to be slavery, and claim people who did it are racist even though it happened so long ago.

And someone who said that the past stays with you, yes it does. But letting it consume you destroys your life, and I think ANY psychiatrist will tell you that!

Either way, we know animals were killed, get over it like someone said it doesn't happen anymore.

reply

Once again, let me reiterate: Slavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still existsSlavery still exists. Perhaps you are speaking of slavery in the United States of America, but even so, your reply reeks of ignorance. SLAVERY IS STILL PRACTICED ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Let's not even start to talk about wage slavery or horrible indentured servitude in China, Indonesia, and elsewhere. So maybe you boycott Nike? Congrats, but I highly doubt you don't own a single shirt or pair of shoes made somewhere in some horrible working condition. Again, this is a digression, but it serves to illustrate the point. While you shuck off the past, or so you think, everyone else on this planet is at least somewhat shackled by it.

Maybe animals don't get killed in film anymore, in the US, and in most places around the world, for that matter. You might want to let Michael Vick know that. While he's taking his kids to the next Disney/Pixar flick, take your liberally pompous shears and cut down the dog he hung on the tree after electrocuting it. Or send a Humane Society flier to any number of places where there is cockfighting, bullriding, etc etc etc.
