If they every made another Dirty Harry movie...
and Clint Eastwood wasn't casted as Harry (Obvious reasons) who would you cast as Harry.
I would go with Hugh Jackman.

Clint Eastwood put his stamp on this role. Hugh Jack or no one else could play the role!
shareHarry, like Indiana Jones should die with the actor. It's not like James Bond, Batman or Spider-Man. These are unique and should NEVER be played by another actor, period.
shareI'd also go with Hugh Jackman.
God is Pro-Abortion.
The Rookie, In the Line of Fire, True Crime, Blood Work and Gran Torino would have been great variants and vehicles, for Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry, as he's forced to be less physical with increasing age, but just as spirited. I'm surprised, especially with In the Line of Fire and Gran Torino, that they didn't go that route.
shareI think a film would be a disgrace. There should only ever be one Dirty Harry film in my opinion. I sincerely hope that a few of the classics can achieve untouched status.. in cinema.
Because, I would actually approve of and be excited by a tv show about Dirty Harry. Maybe a prequel, starting with the death of his wife in the first few episodes. So maybe the very last episode is when he hears about the blonde beauty shot in the swimming pool. TV is becoming a powerhouse these days, some people are more into watching all the tv shows than bothering with films now. A film would feel too.. lazy, ripoff, a gimmick.. Just remaking the Dirty Harry film probably mostly for money. However a tv show shining a new light on the story, a reimagining which has time to allow for plot and character development - could be ace.
Who to cast.. well my idea is a younger Harry on tv, so I will try and run with that. Here's my shortlist off top of head:-
- Bradley Cooper
- Ryan Gosling
- Chris Pine
- Matthew McConaughey
- Andrew Lincoln
Okay, McConaughey is not so young, but hypothetical talkin 'ere I think he could pull it off. Also notice I only listed light eye coloured fellas - I'm a big supporter of eye colour consistency.
yes hugh jackman would be good
they could call it dirty harry comes clean or
dirty dancing
or he teams up with 11 cops: the dirty dozen
johnny 5: why do people not like me? call me craphead?
fred: they like you, they like you, craphead is a compliment
In this time and climate, I think the most likely way of revival would be if they made a Dirty Harry TV-show.
