If they every made another Dirty Harry movie...

and Clint Eastwood wasn't casted as Harry (Obvious reasons) who would you cast as Harry.

I would go with Hugh Jackman.

reply

I was actually thinking about Hugh Jackman as Dirty Harry not too long ago, I think he'd be a great Dirty Harry.

reply

He also looks like a young Clint Eastwood.

reply

hugh jackman as callahan all day long

reply

Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Scorpio.

OBVIOUSLY

reply

Too bad no one ever found the true fountain of youth, could have sent Clint Eastwood to it so he could continue to play Dirty Harry.

reply

I don’t know… I’d pay to see Eastwood still in the role. Maybe have Harry stalked by someone from his past or something. It’d be cool to see what an old Harry is up to these days. (But Hollywood demands all films must be about young people.)

old harry? watch gran turino

reply

DEFINITELY SHIA LABEOUF, THIS IS CRYSTAL CLEAR

reply

Is that a joke? That's the worst idea I've ever heard of in my life. Ever. It needs to be someone who ISN'T a total p*ssy.

reply

Yes, Shia LeBeouf would make a great rape victim that Hugh Jackman's Dirty HArry could rescue... WIN!

reply

Jackman has great resemblance with the young Clint Eastwood, wich makes casting him too much like going for a copy.
A new Dirty Harry must be a character in his own right, authentic and persuading as was the old one.
My actors of choice would be
Sam Worthington
Viggo Mortensen
Mickey Rourke

Hollywood's looney lefties wouldn't sit still for another DH flick, or at least one that points accusing fingers at criminal coddlers the way the DH series did. After all, psychopaths like Scorpio are just victims of society, you know.

But Jackman WOULD be a good pick for the part. Now if only Callahan could have powers like Wolverine or Colossus.

He doesn't need super powers, he has Smith and Wesson.

I second that.

This just might be the nerdiest thing ever written...

reply

Hugh Jackman would be perfect; he plays the charismatic tough guy very well.IMO Wolverine is basically Dirty Harry, but with metal claws instead of a magnum.

It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you.

reply

It's a tough one, Jackman isn't bad. I may go with Viggo Mortensen though. Seems like a good, old-school tough guy.

Without Clint Eastwood.......there is no Dirty Harry. End of story.

Hi Guys,

Timothy Olyphant looks a lot like Clint sometimes and would be the one I would choose, and not just for looks.

I'm not sure if they could do another Dirty Harry without pumping it up to cartoon levels of action. The movie was dirty, gritty and dark with just enough action to keep the story interesting. Harry was low-key menacing. Not sure if they could find an actor that could do that kind of a restrained acting job.

The new DH should be:

Over 35 to get that been there/done that, seen it all, world weary, old guard cop. Single, slightly disheveled, and NOT living in a designer apartment.

Should be able to use a big gun convincingly on screen and not fire a millon shots all over the place. DH is so good, he only needs 1 or 2 shots to get the job done. Also, pump up the volume on Harry's cannon.

The guy is a dinosaur. Please, no pretty boys. Leave the hunks to play DH's partners who seem to get shot.

reply

Hollywood had the formula with the Shield. Unfortunately it ran its course on TV. Michael Chiklis had the perfect feel for a modern day dirty harry, minus the crooked cop part.

reply

After I watched "Taken", I said that if they ever remake/reboot Dirty Harry, Liam Neeson should play Harry. (Fun fact, Neeson was in the last DH movie "The Dead Pool")

I'd choose Wentworth Miller, who played Michael in Prison Break. He's young of course, but then he could play a young Harry. "The 0.22 Force"

Clint Eastwood and Wentworth Miller are both extremely intense, concentrated and hard as a diamond in their best roles.

I eagerly look forward to see anything from them both.

Ieh right, a pretty gay actor to play a rough killer. This is the problem in this days with hollywood and the viewers.
