CIIZEN KANE, widely regarded as the best film ever made, rates an 8.5 and THIS rates a 9.0. Not saying it's a bad film but BETTER than CITIZEN KANE? Not to anyone who actually knows ANYTHING about movies.
Why bother to have a rating system when it comes up with ridiculous ratings like this?

Citizen Kane is a a horrible Western
Yes, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly for a Western is MYTHICAL, its been described as Gunfighter Gods in the Olympian WEST. Citizen Kane is good and had great technical advances but its not a film I'll watch over and over again. Entertainment wise this is preferable to me and the masses.
Now if Welles had made a Western maybe we'd have something to compare properly.

The thing to remember about the IMDB rating list is that it is a popularity poll, not a quality poll. Given that fact, the number of true classics that are in the IMDB top 250 is really quite astounding.

For me I think Citizen Kane was superb, yet so is this one. But I did find Citizen Kane boring which would be why people would rate this film better. But do not forget I hear Citizen Kane has been voted the best film by the film establishment quite a few times. But also its very hard comparing this film with The Good The Bad And The Ugly. More easier comparing Once Upon A Time In The West which for me at times I think this is better then the other way around. My fav film of all time is North By Northwest but I understand how can I be right about it being the best film ever made as people have different opinions. I am just glad when I see my fav films right up there!
