Should be in the AFI 100. All who agree chime in!

This movie, without question, should be in the AFI's top 100 films. Andy Griffith's performance is nothing short of spectacular, and this film has become so real today.

If you agree, put a post here. Let's see if we can start a petition or something; replace Titanic with this!

I just finished watching this and it floored me. Amazing film.
And hell, such a cast!

Couldn't agree with you more. Everything about this film was very well done. The acting the writing the casting the desing. Excellent film.

It was on AMC this weekend what a great movie !

Absolutely -- though it isn't as well-known as a lot of other entries, this film is a complete masterpiece.

Though Andy's Mayberry TV series was quite good, especially for television, and certainly a far more positive influence on kids than most of the crapola offered, I can't help thinking, when I watch the old re-runs, that all that time and effort devoted to Sheriff Andy did, in a sense, "cheat" us out of some real dramatic work that Andy Griffith is so capable of giving us.

Few performers are as talented -- his comedy work (like the lesser-known 'No Time For Sergeants') is exceptional, and 'A Face in the Crowd' certainly clinches his reputation as a dramatic actor. And he obviously could have made a career for himself just as a blues singer, too.

I think it's a fantastic film. I just watched it and was blown away. Andy Griffith was perfect in the part and Patricia Neal, Walter Matthau were terrific, as well. This is a film that really should be remembered and studied, in my opinion.

Add me to the list! Sink the Titanic ... again.

I am in 100% agreement with you. Sometimes I believe the movie was blacklisted because of the controversial director.

Absolutely!
