Should be in the AFI 100. All who agree chime in!

This movie, without question, should be in the AFI's top 100 films. Andy Griffith's performance is nothing short of spectacular, and this film has become so real today.

If you agree, put a post here. Let's see if we can start a petition or something; replace Titanic with this!

Wow! Include my vote. I'm surprised it isn't in the AFI 100. Politics?

Get me a bromide! And put some gin in it!

Well, I just looked at the AFI list, and I don’t really have the impression that the exclusion of A Face In The Crowd is politically motivated at all. There are just so many wonderful films which really belong on the list that it’s difficult to pick. I myself would add 12 Angry Men, A Face In The Crowd, Peyton Place and Harvey, definitely - plus one or two more stand-out films. So the question becomes which to prune, really.

There are many great American films out there and this is one of them. It is definitely better than TITANIC, so you have my vote.

First off, I know I am coming into the conversation about 8 years and a lot of changes later, so please forgive if I am repeato person. I was actually just looking at the rating system on this site before reading this which is, I guess, why it caught my attn. If this was rated by score alone (which is 8.2), it would be up there on the board between 114 and 151 of the top 250. The reason it is not isn't that people don't like it, but because it only counts with a minimum of 25,000 votes and so far this movie only has 8,635 votes. I don't know if that info is of any help or interest to anyone but there it is...💕

Yep!

I agree, certainly relevant to today except we have Donald Trump playing the role of a goober.

Many years later, plus one. Here's my vote.

If I catch a moment of this movie, I have to watch it all. I think Andy Griffith is perfect in a stunningly brave performance. And Kentucky girl Patricia Neal is a *beep* goddess.

reply

You said it and you've got my vote! Where were the Oscar nominations for this excellent film? Andy and Patricia were totally and unjustly ignored!
