Which of the four versions are the best?

As silly as this sounds, I'd still like to know what people have to say over the matter of the original and and it's three remakes. Who likes which the most? I'm gonna say this one, the original.

The ending of the 1993 version is why I like it the best. They're all pretty good.

Elvira mistress of the dark is the coolest woman ever.
DCI Gene Hunt (UK) coolest man ever.

I have only seen this original film and the 78 version. I liked the 78 version best.

I like the '78 version the most. It was the first one I saw though, then I saw the new remake and just now, the original. And that would be the order that I like them too.

I find it hard to enjoy most sci-fi and horror movies pre-60's (other genres too, but irrelevant here), because I grew up in the 90's; it's mainly the dialogue that puts me off, it sounds so unrealistic.

Why do you think the dialogue of the original was unrealistic?

both 56 and 78 have their merits. i think 93 suffers from having to follow the predesors. dont get me wrong, its not that great, but if you dont compare it to 56 and/or 78, then its not that bad of a film

anyways, i've always seen them in ways as sequals, not remakes.

the 56 was set in a small rural town, and they're attempts to contain it originialy.

the 78 one furthers the story as the aliens have strengthened their foothold from the first invastion and are gaining momentum, taking over a large city. i think the thought is strengthened by the 56's mccarthy running into the cab screaming the same stuff he was warning the small town about in the original.

the 93 one has them now thinking globally. taking over military instilations to more efficiently take over the world.

the latest nicole kidmen 'the invasion' is pure travesty.

I prefer the 78 version.

1978. It was creepy, well acted, better effects, more realistic. 1956 second.
